Summary: Sexual Liberation
Review: ...This is a wonderfull book. An affirmation of female sexuality. It's interesting, and it's erotic and exciting.

... Are women supposed to only think of sex in flowery, romantic terms? Are we not permitted to have agressive, dirty fantasies?...

Summary: Love this! Finally a more up to date.
Review: As a reader of "My Secret Garden" and "Forbidden Flowers", I was looking forward to having a more recent book. Here it is! Things have changed since her first books, but the best thing is that I think women are open about sex and fantasies

Summary: Not as great as it could be
Review: Buyer beware: there is a LOT of sex with animals in this book, and you're never warned ahead of time: the dogs just come out of nowhere and the average reader gets caught. I felt very guilty when I loaned this book to someone without warning her first and she was not pleased. I mean, don't get me wrong, fantasize about whatever you want...but this is not something I enjoyed reading about. While I admire and respect the concept of this book, it is also marred by Nancy Friday's hamhanded psychoanalysis. I frequently disagree with her theories and find that the best way to read this is to skip all that and jump right into the women's fantasies, some of which are really amazing. While the writers don't stand as representative of women in general (is such a thing possible?), I think the overall scope of the book is such that anyone- whatever sexuality, gender-identity, race, religion, or class- will find something of interest here, be it for education or arousal...and that's what a good book in this field should be, as far as I'm concerned. Negatives aside, I'd like to see a lot more of this out there. If Nerve.com and other such sites would focus less on commerce and big name authors we might start to see a change in the way Americans view sex...but I digress. Take a look at this one, but don't get your hopes too high.

Summary: Disappointed
Review: Extremely boring. Each letter is all basically the same (middle class ladies, brought up in strict environment, most of them Catholics with very sick twisted imagination)
There is a LOT of sex with animals in this book; dogs just jump out of nowhere and do weird stuff. I had 3 dogs in my life and non-of them made any attempt to do any of the things those ladies are talking about.
I also got an impression that lots of those ladies are just trying to get back at their parents (look, mom, what I got them published in the book - recognize that family? Nah-nah-nah-
nah!)
What was the point of that book again? I didn't get it!

And what is with those constant references to her other two books? If I want to read them - I would - no reason constantly tell me about them. It is just such a cheap trick to fill-up the space in third book by talking about number one and number two!
The author is by far not the best sexologist I came across and letters she published not any different from other porn stories one can find in any monthly issue of Cosmopolitan.

Summary: A great book, but some of the fantasies -- YUCK!
Review: I applaud Friday's guts to stand up to the prudish Prunellas and false feminists and write/publish this book. Her take on women's fantasies is on the mark.

That having been said: if you find the idea of sex with animals as utterly revolting and disgusting as I do, there are entire sections of this book you may wish to avoid. Many of her correspondents discuss not just fantasies about bestiality but actual experiences with it. These women seem to have no conscience, no guilt about committing what is nothing less than a form of rape. Would these women be so accepting of pedophilia? Or rape of the mentally disabled?

However, as Friday is writing about women's sexuality and fantasies, I think she has a right if not an obligation to tell the entire story. If women are fantasising about raping defenseless animals, that is part of the story, and she shouldn't leave it out.

Again, another top-notch piece of research by Friday, but not one the average person can read wit! h unmitigated pleasure.

Summary: Erotica, Therapy, Sociology--The Most Amazing Book About Sex
Review: I first found this book in my Dad's bedroom when I was 15-years old. I am now 21 and I still think it's incredible. The only thing that has changed is my appreciation for it. I now know how rare it is to find such fearless and honest erotica that really turns me on. Some of the fantasies, notwithstanding, aren't for me.

This book is also therapeutic: A friend of mine was recently thinking of seeing a sex therapist. She did, but I also helped by giving her my copy. She hasn't given it back, so this will be my third, counting my Dad's which I read until I moved out.

"Women on Top" is a great reminder or proclaimer of the fact that sex is a natural part of our existence and our everyday lives, and should not be taken for granted.

I think everyone over age 15 (depending on individual maturation) should own this book and be given a sexual education that includes teaching the biology, anatomy, intellect and emotions of sex.

Summary: Intelligen,positive,educational,mandatory.
Review: I found this book at the public library researching books on women to help myself better understand women(I am a male),their roles, feelings, child bearing responsabilities, etc,.This book is incredible,I plan to read all of them,I found it very educational and I completely disagree with others negative comments,Nancy's analysis is very positive and good,Nancy is a blessing and a true diamond in the world, she is very intelligent and this book is very deep-not just fantasies,it contains reality and humanity, women need to continue to grow to their potentials, explore and learn,--if some fantasies disgust you(and some have me)realize it's yourself that makes you feel that way, people need to accept and understand that a human is half grounded to this world with the physical self, don't project stifelling views and repressive thought on these fantasies, women are beautiful and sensitve. This book should be read by more men and anyone seeking understanding in female feelings, aspirations, dreams, creativity, expression, and joy! I love this book and it made me feel like a better human being to read it!

Summary: EXTREMELY HOT
Review: I found this book on a shelf at a library over 10 years ago. It was a hardcover book and the artwork was rather nondescript. What I browsed through within though is seared into my conscious and really opened my eyes to the world of female lust thought. I admit, NOTHING has ever aroused me like some of the entries inside - even hardcore [...]. It's all about intent, motive, desire. Is it real? Is it sincere? You could put the most flat out gorgeous woman in front of me and she might not have anywhere near the erotic intensity of a woman who society might deem "less than perfect" looks-wise. It almost always is the look in her eye, or the pitch of her voice, something that conveys warmth, you know? More than anything, seeing and feeling a palpable HUNGER, an aching so deep it hurts for satisfaction. I found a lot of that energy in this book and it was DIVINE. I wish Ms. Friday would release another compilation of this material.

Summary: Hasn't this always been the case..?!?
Review: I have read Nancy's book "Women on Top" and yes it was a turn-on and it told us all about the things we wanted to hear, but this is the norm with most women. What I am trying to say is that this is not some great experience for us, a great sexual awakening... Saying all of the above, the books are good, I'm only sorry that I didn't think of the idea myself......I'm sure Nancy is smiling, I would be if 150 women wrote to me with their experiences and all I had to do was print them and make millions..!!
