Summary: An Essential Book!
Review: As a mom of 4, I thought I knew all I needed to know about baby care. But then I heard about this practice of infant potty training, or Elimination Communication. The more I read, the more I knew I had to try it. I was amazed at how simple, easy, and intuitive it is! I thought at first it must take too much time, or be too messy. I was really wrong, it is fun, and a great way to get to know your baby better. I told a friend about it, and she started it with her baby. She also bought me a copy of this book. I enjoyed every page, from the practical how-to sections, to the testimonials of parents using this method, to the wonderful cultural and historical studies! I only wish I had read this book when I was pregnant with my first child, so I wouldn't have wasted all that time and money on diapers!

Summary: Life-altering book!!! A must read!
Review: I came across the idea of Infant Potty Training (also known as Elimination Communication, Natural Infant Hygiene and Elimination Timing) on a website a couple of years ago. To be totally honest, my first reaction was "OMIGOD, WHAT????". But darn if the concept didn't just stick in my head... and eventually I got curious, looked around some more and found this book, which I devoured cover to cover. If you're someone like me who had never given a thought to what women in other cultures did before diapers were invented, this book will blow your mind. Chock full of amazing testimonials from women all over the world -- including the Western world -- this book is a pioneering classic that may help change the way in which we view potty training, diapering and the ability of babies to communicate their needs to us. This book also led me to read the other essential EC book, "Diaper Free!" by Ingrid Bauer, and ferret out several websites on the subject. My son is 11 months old and has been totally diaper free since about 8 months. We started this with him at 2 wks old and haven't looked back since. Thanks Laurie Boucke!

Summary: Amazing and life altering
Review: I didn't think it was possible but after only a few days of reading this book it worked for my 6 week old. With a little boy we went through a messy time (directioning was hard) at first until I got the recommended Baby Bjorn potty but now it is wonderful. My family including husband thought I was crazy until it actually worked. I'm contantly impressed by my son and I would have completely underestimated him if it wasn't for this book.

Summary: Wow, it really works!
Review: I read this book and gave it a try last weekend with my 8 week old son. I was astounded when he not only immediately responded and understood, but seemed thrilled that I finally was paying attention to his cues! It seemed overwhelming before I actually tried it, and I was really unsure, but I am a complete believer now. You can do it as little or as much as you want to, it's not all or nothing. Try pottying your baby when they first wake up, either in the morning or from a nap and see for yourself! Highly recommended. I also love the second section that gives a very informative and fascinating review of how and when potty training is done by other cultures around the world. The majority of them use techniques like this!

Summary: It really does work
Review: I started this with my son when he was 12 weeks old. Now at 6 months I rarely clean a poopy diaper. You do run into those people who are closed minded about it and think you're evil. But this technique is really a gentle, loving and bonding experience. My son smiles so big when he's going poop, and chuckles so I don't think this is a harsh evil thing I'm doing. I didn't think it could work when I started, but I thought what can it hurt, if it doesn't work I'll do the normal wait until they're 2 thing. Nope, it works, my son knows what the potty is for and starts using it as soon as I set him on it. If anything at all, it's very interesting reading. I'm very sure you won't be disappointed. I does take time, and you will have accidents. But you have success even if you get one pee or poo in the potty. I'm sure my son enjoys the fact that he doesn't have to sit in poo until I change his diaper, I know I wouldn't enjoy it much.

Review: In a society where boys are potty trained even later than girls, this was a must have for me as a mom of 14 month old and a now 4 week old sons. It would be an excellent read for any expectant parent! Most mom's know when their baby is eliminating, this harnessess the communication to allow the baby to have a dry bottom. because of this book my 14 momth old only wets when sleeping, saving tons in diapers. And my 4 week old responds to my cues to pee. Even as a conservative parent I find this process loving and facinating. Right now I tell everyone I am ecstatic about PEE!
