Rating: Summary: Lessons learned can help future generations! Review: As a wife and a parent of two young children,I have become increasingly aware of my inability to handle anger and extremely stressful situations with my family. This book helped me realize that perhaps my parents and grandparents were never taught how to deal with anger either. I decided I do not want to repeat those same mistakes. This book helps you realize that perhaps one of the greatest gifts you can give your spouse and children is the ability to manage your anger appropriately and teach your children the same skills. I think it is a great new family legacy that I can pass on to my children!
Rating: Summary: Mediocre self help book Review: I give this book two stars for effort and its Christian perspective, but he reverts to the "forgive at all costs" mentality. Some things aren't forgivable, nor should people be expected to do so. This may lay an additional burden on people who are suffering, trivializes their injuries, and it gives the abuser an out. Still, a decent effort. Might be helpful in addition to counseling from a minister
Rating: Summary: Lessons learned can help future generations! Review: I have to say that this book is a great book. If a person reads this book and can't relate the material to their own lives, they couldn't be human. Dr. Chapman once again has hit the nail on the head with this book. Practical insights and easy to understand stories help to make this book a clear winner. Everybody I know, including myself, will have lots to learn and lots to practice after digesting the information in this text. This book is not only for those of us who are married, but anybody who wants to get along better with anybody they have a relationship with, whether it is a parent, child, friend, or even an enemy.
Rating: Summary: A very good book on anger management Review: I have to say that this book is a great book. Rating: Summary: What Your Parents Did't Tell You Review: I recommend this to everyone. It is sad fact that alot of us just didn't learn how to effectively deal with our anger growing up.
Rating: Summary: Try A Different Approach Review: I've been told that we experience the same types of problems (ie. anger) over & over again until we "get it right" and deal with things appropriately. The Other Side of Love, Handling Anger in a Godly Way helps the reader to differentiate between distorted and valid anger, and it provides practical suggestions for processing your (or someone else's) anger. This book encourages you to take a Godly approach when handling the universal emotion of ANGER.

Rating: Summary: Freedom from bitterness, hurt, resentment, hatred Review: This book is better than 30 years of counseling and my old Zoloft prescription. At last, someone has explained exactly what I'm feeling-exactly what we're ALL feeling-and given us logical, step-by-step ways to overcome this tremendous burden of anger, aka frustration, disappointment, injustice, etc. I don't have to be upset all the time anymore! Freedom!
Rating: Summary: Anger in a new light and proper perspective Review: This book is breath of fresh concept on an age old conflict. Gary Chapman strips away the guilt about anger allows the reader express it and understand it. An excellent book for anyone who either has anger problems or deals regularly with someone who does.
