Summary: The Cravings are Gone!
Review: I just received this book and have been on the program for three days. I don't know if I have lost any weight and at this point I don't really care; the main thing is that the cravings are gone! When I took the test, I answered "yes" to 14 questions and "sometimes" to the other, making me "strongly addicted." It was no surprise. I have been eating uncontrollably for quite a while and craving carbohydrates; it has been driving me crazy. Now, I am eating three meals a day. I hope that I am able to stay with this program; so far, it isn't very difficult, except for breakfast, but I am working on that. It is wonderful to not be searching the house for something to satisfy my cravings and not feeling guilty because I am eating so much "junk" and, if I lose weight, too, it will be a bonus. Color me very happy!

Summary: A way of life!
Review: My husband and I have been on this program for approx.10 weeks now and we have done very well. My husband has lost 15kgs(33lbs) and I have lost 7kgs(15.4lbs) I have found the "eggs" ritual a bit much but then it is easy to skip breakfast. Very much a plan for life.

Summary: great book for carb addicts!
Review: This eating plan has changed my life. I have been on Atkins and the Zone, but this diet is much easier and a real joy to follow, and it WORKS. I have been struggling with my weight for the past 12 years and this plan has given me complete control over my food addiction and cravings. I am now living a normal life that does not revolove around my next carb "binge."

Summary: read em' all done em' all....
Review: i have read hellers, the zone, protein power, suzanne somers, sugar busters, etc....all of them i am sure you could lose weight on, but who can stick to this? this is not for ever, there is no way i could eat bacon and eggs every morning, and drink my black coffee within 15 minutes! i dont quite get the reward meal, it seems like big time cheating to me. i have decided after reading all of these, that the most effective way to lose and keep off weight is to eat sensibly, yes watch those carbs, but i believe fruit and whole wheat products are good for you. everything in moderation and exercise! watch the junk food. i have taken a little bit from each book and incorperated into my life, and i think this will work for me.

Summary: I live and breathe this eating program
Review: I have been on the this program since the beginning of November and I've lost 41lbs.! I too like many have battled with my weight all my life and tried many diets. None worked because they all take away my favorite foods. On this program, it's not about what you can't eat, but when you eat it. That's what hooked me to begin the program. For those who say the've gained weight, if you gobble cheeses and meats all day as an excuse to snack, then yes, you will gain weight. I work for a cardiologist and am surrounded by nurses and they applaud the program. They commend me on my weightloss and I'm loving the compliments.

Summary: It's a Miracle!
Review: I've been on this program for 3 weeks. This has been the BEST program I've ever been on. I've struggled with my weight for 20 years. I'm amazed at the "NO CRAVINGS". That's the miracle. I don't crave chocolate or popcorn, my two favorite things in the world (WAS). I'm actually enjoying myself. I can see this as being a lifestyle change with no effort. I finally found a program I appreciate. It really is a miracle in my life. I encourage whoever reads this to give this book a try. You can't lose anything but pounds. HA! HA!

Summary: Not For Everyone
Review: I was eager to start the book however after being on the eating plan for 5 weeks I gained 1.5 pounds. The diet did take away cravings and the feeling of having to eat deminished. However, I do not think this diet is for everyone. I only wanted to lose 10 lbs and now have just made it worse. The diet appears to be only geared for individuals are at an obese level. So, it is not for everyone as the book states.

Summary: IT WORKS !
Review: My wife and I are 60 years old. We started this diet at the end of October. So far I have lost 27 lbs and she has lost 11 lbs. This is a do-able diet... finally! The reward meal is what makes it work... but, like others have said, the craving for carbos does seem to fade .... also the tolerance for carbos seems to be a lot less... when we started, we could pig out once a day and have energy from it... not so anymore. Now when we eat a carbo-heavy meal, it knocks us out for half an hour or so... good thing we're retired... we can take a small nap... Learning to do without this inconvenience is the next step for us. Other than that, we are totally happy with this diet... its teaching us a new way to eat and its satisfying... and there's this wonderful steady weight loss. Thanks to the Hellers!

Summary: Not just weight loss, but energy abounds!
Review: I have been using the book and the "diet" for a while now and will report that I feel terrific, which is even more important than my weight loss, which is happening. This book/diet does not promote a high fat/high protein diet like Atkins (which I tried and got sick from), but does promote a balanced low-fat, low-carb diet. Almost instantly, I was finding my energy levels elevated all day. Before, I would be sleepy late morning, mid-afternoon and early evening. Now, I can concentrate at work, and have the energy to exercise at night. That's been the most exciting change. It would be easy for some to dismiss this diet because of the reward meal, but the truth is that once you start the program, your desire to pig out at the reward meal goes away. Yes, I enjoy the fact that I can have dessert, but I usually don't want that much. Not because I am stuffed; I just don't have the strong desire I used to have! Anyway, give it a try -- but only if you pass the test and are a Carb Addict. Good Luck!

Summary: Never felt better
Review: My doctor recommended this diet to me since my cholesterol & triglycerides are high and I need to lose 50#. I was and still am skeptical because I never go on fad diets & since I have kept up with all the facts over the years (supporting low fat, high carb), and which was successful for me in terms of lowering cholesterol & losing 25#, but takes a great deal of willpower.

THIS DIET does not take any willpower, I love it. I have ALWAYS craved sugar, but starting the 1st day, there were no more cravings! I am reading everyone's reviews (thanks) and becoming more faithful that this is not just a fad diet, but a way of life. I lost 5# in a couple of weeks (which is the biggest weight loss I've ever had in that amount of time), it's too good to be true. It's just unbelievable how effortless it is. I have so much more energy than before, and lost the feelings of anxiety from feeling hungry all the time. The real test will be if the triglyceride & cholesterol levels come down, that will be the convincing factor for me.
