Summary: Feeling the difference after one week
Review: I have been fighting weight gain for 20 years. Finally here is a book that I know was written for me. Not only does it get to the heart of my carbohydrate cravings... it is specifically for people in my age bracket (40's, 50's & 60's). I had given up hope of ever being able to take the weight off, now I know that it is possible. If you are tired all the time, feel like you have no motivation, often feel like you are walking around in a fog, and can't pull off the weight no matter how little you eat... this book is for you! After one week, I have lost 5 pounds, I am clear headed, I am not needing a nap in the middle of the afternoon, and I am hunger and craving free!! I would continue this way of eating if I never lost another pound because of the other benefits I listed.

Summary: A book that offers freedom from food addiction
Review: The Hellers haven't written just another diet book. I can safely make that statement as I have read them all<G>. After reading the "The Carbohydrates Lifespan Program", I came away with a sense of relief, knowing that there was finally a program, no a lifestyle, meant for me, a carbohydrate addict. Their book was only the beginning, I found a whole support group through the internet to help keep me going. Might end up being the best investment I ever made...we'll see.

Summary: This book saved my life
Review: I have tried every diet book and diet plan known to mankind until I dieted my weigh up from 200 pounds to 315 pounds. After reading the Hellers book I have lost 27 pounds in 4 months and the weight and inches just keep coming off. I finally understand that being overweight is not my fault. This book literally saved my life. I now eat completely healthy ,balanced meals every day using the Hellers plan. I eat all my favorite foods and I can do it without starving, without craving, without bingeing and without feeling deprived. the Hellers book showed me how to have more energy and feel more alive than I have in 30 years.

Summary: Brilliant - I shall eat this way for the rest of my life
Review: I can recommend all the Carbohydrate Addicts books to anyone who is looking for an answer to their weight problems. I have been on the Carbohydrate Addicts Lifespan Program for over a year and lost 56 lbs easily. As a carbohydrate addict I know I must stick with this "Way of Eating" for the rest of my life but I don't regard it as any problem. I can eat as much as I want, never go hungry, enjoy delicious meals and still lose weight. Plus I feel healthier and have more energy. Finding CALP and the Hellers has probably saved my life and I will be forever grateful to them for their research and their continuing honest, caring, supportive attitude to those of us who have embarked on this way of life.

Summary: This book is a lifesaver!
Review: I recommend this book highly to any carbohydrate addict who has trouble with being hungry and craving foods all the time. With the information you gain in this book, you can understand why you're always hungry and do something about it. The solution is simple, easy, and you don't have to endure hunger to make it work for you. I've not only lost weight--although that is tremendous enough--but my asthma is better, my cholesterol is lower, my digestion is better, I am more energetic, my mood is better. It has improved my life in a dozen ways. I can't recommend this book highly enough.

Summary: This book changed my life!!!!
Review: This book is the answer to the prayers of millions of people. Finally an answer why I can't lose weight? Why I never had willpower! Carbohydrate addiction! I've been following this way of eating for 16 months. It has changed my life. My children now have a healthy mother as well as a healthier diet. I've lost 50lbs and counting. You won't be sorry you bought this book!

Summary: Well-researched book on how carbohydrates make some fat.
Review: The Hellers have done an outstanding job of research and documentation in the field of obesity and health. Their Carbohydrate Addict Program is soundly based on research from many highly thought-of and prestigious journals of medicine, obesity, and nutrition. This book is a further refinement of their first product, The Carbohydrate Addict's Diet. Despite what others have said, I have read this and all the other books from the Hellers. The book is well-written and more importantly, well documented as to medical research. The program presented in the book works and, I can tell from personal experience, will make thousands of over-weight people healthier than they could ever imagine. Following the program in the Carbohydrate Addicts Lifespan Program I have been able to lose a lot of weight, normalize my blood pressure and feel great. I highly reccomend reading this book if you have ever struggled with weight or food.

Summary: No More Cravings
Review: Finally a book for people who are addicted to carbohydrates. I started this eating program the first of August '99 and I found it hard believe the differance it made in just a few days. I don't stay hungry all the time. I don't snack at nignt. I don't walk around in a carb fog. I also have more energy. This is something I can do for the rest of my life. I think it may have saved my health. Thank you Dr.'s Heller!
