Summary: This is wonderful!
Review: I have been following this program since 11/1/99 and I have lost 4 lbs so far. This is such a freeing plan because I can eat what I want to for dinner. Therefore there is no cheating and no disappointments/failures. I recommend this to anyone.

Also, I would like to hear from the person from Palm Harbor, FL who posted about a week ago. We could be local CAD buddies.

Summary: Update - Re-thinking it over
Review: My recent review made it sound like there was nothing good about this book, so I want to add something here, because I don't want to be unfair. The book did get the point across to me that carbohydrates have been overlooked as one of the main problems in the battle of the bulge. If anything, the Hellers' diet book got me to cut my carbs by two-thirds, and I am grateful for that. But as for following their diet "prescription" - no way. I still believe that all these books have an element of frontier hucksterism about them:you know, the promise of "miracles in a bottle." Only the miracles promised are between the pages of their glossy-covered books. Don't be fooled!

Summary: a great plan
Review: everyone that says this plan is restrictive did not actually read the book. .. Also to those who said "shame" on Oprah for recommending this book should say SHAME on themselves for being such sheep and following Oprah like she is some kind of perfect diety. Whether the plan is good or bad it is your own responsibility to follow it or not to follow it so don't blame Oprah for your own stupidity.

Summary: Great book stopped all the cravings
Review: I didn't think that I could really stick to the diet after I tried the Atkins diet which was very restrictive. I did have a hard time on the 2nd and 3rd day but after that I was feeling alot of energy which I could not bevieve. I could not explain it to anyone. I think that the diet world has brainwashed us into believing we can only loose weight with low-fat no flavor diets that have never worked for me. This diet just makes sense to me!

Summary: I found the diet unnatural
Review: I tried the diet that everyone was raving about and felt very ill while on it. My breath was bad and I had no energy. I felt that eating so much at the reward meal encouraged the binge type of cycle referred to as "the last supper" in dieting lingo. Also, I felt self-conscious at the grocery store buying so much protein. I thought of all the animals that had to die to support this diet. I have since returned to a low-fat, high-fiber plan and am having a lot of weight loss success while eating a variety of healthful foods. I also feel energetic now. This seems like a more natural way to eat.

Summary: IF YOU ARE A TRUE CARB ADDICT, THIS PROGRAM WORKS!!
Review: I am a true carb addict and this book made me understand my cravings and why I craved bagels, bread, macaroni and cakes. I have been on this program for two weeks and have lost over 10 lbs and my clothes are becoming loose. I am no longer craving the bread, pasta and cakes, but am completely satisfied with the carbs I am allowed with the "reward" meal. The reward meal is not a license to binge, but it provides the carbs you need each day. Not everyone is a carb addict, so take the test in this book to see if you are, before you begin this program. This program works quite well, but it does require a lot of cooking, ie: vegetables, burgers, etc. and breakfast has limited choices. Overall I rate this program five stars!!! Give it a try!!

Review: Eating highly fatty foods and cholesterol ladden foods are not good for you in the long run, even if you do lose weight. But you will be a good looking corpse!

Summary: Easy to understand, sample recipes, watch the weight go!
Review: If you want an easy to understand diet, where if you follow the suggestions you can lose weight EASILY, this book is for you. They give great sample recipes, and the best thing about this diet is you can eat whatever and how much you want for your REWARD Meal. Give it a try, you not only lose weight you will lose inches!!

Summary: This is the one!
Review: I received this book recently and can't say enought about it. I feel great and already have lost a few pounds. I have so many choices that I just love it, especially having real, heavy cheesecake for desert! Before this, was there enough candy in the world for me? Now, I don't even miss it...a miracle! After struggling on every other diet for so long, I can finally say that this is the one to try.

I would also like to hear from the other person from Palm Harbor who posted on 10/24. We can give each other local support. Thanks.
