Summary: For the beginner in natural health/natural childbirth.
Review: My midwife recommended this book and it proved to be my favorite book during pregnancy. It was easy to read and offered advice in many issues of pregnancy and childbirth from fertility issues to infant problems. I was new to herbal medicine and found Weed's guidance easy to follow. This book, along with some raspberry leaf tea, would make a great gift for your pregnant friends.

Summary: Title should be "Herbal for Pregnancy and Post Partum"
Review: My wife and I were looking for a book on herbals for our 8 month old daughter. While this book looks like it will be an excellent reference for the next time we are pregnant, it barely touches on herbals for babies and toddlers. We are hoping to find a similar book that covers that topic.

Summary: Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year
Review: Really great book for people into alternative medicine and herbs. Full of lots of hard to find information about herbs and remedies to take and not take while pregnant. Also good pre and post pregnancy and baby info!

Summary: herbal know-how
Review: Susun Weed's book about herbs and the "Childbearing Year" left me with more questions than answers. I feel that it is not for someone beginning to take an interst in herbs in pregnancy.

Summary: Fundamental text for herbology
Review: Susun Weed's text serves as an excellent foundation for implementing herbal therapies into your own health regime or for the utilization of herbal therapies in working with pregnant women.

Midwives will find this an indispensible text for their practice. It is clear, simple, applicable, and effective.

While it is not the most detailed or thorough text on the subject (it is not intended to be), it serves as a splendid introduction to using herbs as an effective therapy in maintaining women's health.

Summary: Great Book!
Review: This book is wonderful! As my husband and I plan on trying to start a family later this year, this book is going to come in very handy.

If the New Age feel of the book bothers you, it can be ignored. It didn't bother me at all-it adds to the book.

Summary: Awesome book! One to always look at for many reasons!
Review: THis is a fabulous book that I always run to for my herbal advice while pregnant, nursing or even for my sickies. It has herbs listed to help out with many needs durring pregnancy, after pregnancy, with the baby and I even run to it for fevers and such. THe information in this book is beyond helpfull, and right now I am finding a second and 3rd copy so that I can lend out my books without risking being without it when I need it myself. I have done that twice. I advise you to get this book...

Summary: This book is AMAZING!
Review: This is a wonderful book... it's concise and to the point... true, it doesn't go into a lot of detail about why things are or aren't good to take, but that info is easily researched... I like that it tells you what to do or not to do in short simple ways... makes it SOOOOOO much easier to find the information I want and need.

Throughout this pregnancy my blood pressure has been on the high side... after only a few days of following the cream of tartar protocol (pg 47) my blood pressure is now down to PERFECT!!! This book has greatly improved my health... I recommend it to EVERYONE!
