Summary: FamilyFun Keeps Kids Active and Parents Sane
Review: A long, cold winter lies ahead... a long, cold winter stuck indoors for weeks on end... a long, cold winter stuck indoors for weeks and weeks with bored and antsy children!

If this scenario sounds like your next few months, then Disney has just the book for you: Disney's FamilyFun Crafts. Created by Deanna F. Cook and the experts at FamilyFun Magazine, this book is crammed full of 500 fun, easy, and inexpensive ideas guaranteed to keep your little ones occupied for hours on end. From shadow silhouettes to egg carton critters to origami, parents will find activities for kids of all ages.

The craft ideas in this book are organized into chapters with similar themes. "Let's Color!" includes ideas using paint, crayons, pencils, and chalk. The chapter entitled "Likable Recyclables" provides uses for old cans, bottles, egg cartons, and milk jugs that are a lot more fun than simply tossing them into the recycle bin. "Gifts Kids Can Make" contains some great ideas that children can use to construct a special personalized present for a loved one this holiday season.

Each craft idea is presented in a familiar recipe-like fashion: a brief description, list of necessary materials, and instructions are furnished. The authors also provide parents with tips on how to "transform your home into a haven for artistic expression." That may sound tough, but it is easy as buying some oversize shirts for use as smocks, encouraging creativity, and stocking up on simple materials.

Disney's FamilyFun Crafts is the perfect anecdote for bored children on rainy or snowy days. It will not only help to keep the children happy and occupied, but may also preserve the sanity of mothers and fathers.

Summary: Easy to follow instructions
Review: Being a brownie troop leader,(and a klutz at most crafts) I am always looking for fun and easy crafts. The selections in the book are fabulous!!!! Our troop made the valentine cards and every one had a great time. We have picked several more to work on and we will run out of meetings before we run out of crafts.

Summary: Outstanding aid to teachers and mother-child craft projects
Review: Found this in the library. As a retired school teacher it would have been a fantastic resource for the classroom. I am ordering it for my two daughters who teach school, for one who doesn't but loves to do projects with my grandson, and recommending it to all my teacher and young mother friends. Easy to follow directions and pictures, easy to obtain supplies, and many are quick projects producing great results.

Summary: Great Fun For All Ages!
Review: I borrowed this book from the library to see what crafts it had. I was so pleased with the variety and creativity of the crafts.

My 3 year old enjoys making things from the book as my 14 year old. And of course, I have a blast too.

I highly recommend this book. You don't need to be an expert crafter to do these crafts!

Summary: A great activity book that we'll use for years!
Review: I doubt that I can sing the praises of this book any better than previous reviewers, but I'd like to add my 2-cents-worth on this wonderful resource. As I began planning to homeschool my 5 year-old this year, I wanted a resource book with lots of good, inexpensive activities. We have already completed several of the projects using items from our recycle box. My son plays in the tub every night with the "whale" we made out of an old 1-gallon milk jug. And the "rainbow crayons" made from old, broken crayons were really neat - showing kids how you can make treasure from trash. I love "FamilyFun" magazine and also have three other FamilyFun books (Parties, Cooking, Boredom Busters)and recommend those highly as well.

Review: I have bought Family Fun magazine for years just for their craft section. They have great crafts for all ages, many made of inexpensive and easily available materials. I have not only used the crafts with my grandkids but also use them with my Sunday School class, with an age range of 4-13 years old. Many of their crafts make easy and attractive gifts for children to give at Christmas, etc., and they have a collection of things to make for school parties. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: This is the only childrens craft book you'll ever need!!!!!!
Review: I have made it somewhat of a mission of mine to have as many wonderful craft ideas for my child as possible, so I have accumulated quite the craft and activity book library. I was introduced to this book by my aunt who has raised four children and has always been a big crafter with her kids. I was so impressed I found I needed to own one myself. I really like the fact that most of the crafts use common, everyday supplies. The crafts are such that younger children can do them in a basic form, and older kids can elaborate on each one to reach their very highest creative potential. If you only own one craft book for your children, I sincerely think that this one is the very best to have.
