Summary: My favorite birth book
Review: This book is super - if you can only get one book for birth preparation, make it this one. It has very helpful, sensible advice on labor and birth positioning and explains why proper positioning is so important for mother and baby. I found the photographs to be very helpful as well.

The best aspect of this book is the compelling argument it makes for laboring and birthing while UP, OUT OF BED. This book will also help dispel any culturally-implanted misconceptions about birth being some dreadful ordeal. Birth need not be that, provided mother is empowered with information like that found in this book.

Summary: GREAT BOOK
Review: This book was invaluable to me as I prepared for my first baby's birth. It is so straightforward and common sense it could be renamed Natural Birth For Dummies! It gives great and easy to understand anatomical and physiological overview to help a woman help herself during childbirth.

Summary: an essential for all pregnant women
Review: this is the best book that I have ever come across for pregnancy preparation. It explains the natural physiological processes of labour, and how modern medecine has made birthing more complicated than it need be. The section on prenatal yoga is my favourite. I use the exercises to help me prepare for labour and to help alleviate general pregnancy aches and pains. I also found the book helpful in that it doesn't pretend that natural birth means pain free, but it offers lots of advice for how to cope with the pain.
