Summary: Blessing and truth
Review: After a year of trying to get pregnant, and being officially diagnosed "infertile"; I felt validate to go ahead and read books such as this. My copy arrived yesterday, I picked it up and started to read and could hardly put it down. I found myself saying over and over again, "Yes! That's exactly how I feel." This is a validating, and extremely helpful book. Not only was I able to see that I am not alone in these crazy, inexplicable feelings, but that some of them are more complicated than I thought. I suspected as much. The authors write with sincerity, knowledge and a very realistic approach. There are not only helpful passages, but helpful exercises to help one cope with one's journey. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: A Great Resource to Cope with Infertility and Miscarriage
Review: After reading this book I had the courage to seek a second opinion and try an "experimental" approach to treating recurrent miscarriage. This book not only provides excellent information but it is written in a personal way that helps you feel like you are not alone in your struggle. My husband also found this book to be very "user friendly". As a therapist, I highly recommend this book as a resource for any therapist treating people with infertility or recurrent miscarriage. The authors have written a book that is full of information as well as words that comfort and soothe the soul.

Summary: -What to Expect When You're Experiencing Infertility : How t
Review: As a professional working for more than 15 years w/ couples experiencing infertility, I have found that the insight offered within this book has greatly enhanced my clinical effectiveness. I have gained sensitivity to the emotional impact of infertitlity at a deeper and more meaningful level. Sadly I became aware that I had overlooked some of the day-to-day experiences of infertility. Experiences that I simply took for granted as a woman who biologically conceived without difficulty. These overlooked experiences were profoundly significant to couples working hard to resolve their infertility. Imagine my surprise when I read the review titled, "There are Better Choices Out There." It appeared that this reader was having a very personal & emotional response to this book, given his or her overly harsh reference to literary merit and the lack of professionalism of its authors. I feel this book was written in a "user-friendly" format seeking to reach all persons touched by infertility. I also happened to research the background of one of the authors, H. Rovner-Ferguson and found that she has a long and well-respected history as regards all aspects of infertility, including emotional and medical implications. I am bewildered by this persons harsh criticism and wonder if perhaps they are reviewing a different book.

Summary: Help for the painful emotional side of infertility
Review: As someone who has had experience with one of the authors throughout my own infertility battle, I must say this book is as good as experiencing one of their support groups. The authors present useful techniques and discussions to help people dealing with the pain of infertility really understand the issues and take back some control. They give compassionate and sensible advice on dealing with true-to-life examples of common situations and thoughts one might be experiencing. They have been there too. I highly recommend this book to anyone in need of emotional support going through a time of infertility.

Summary: This book constantly makes me smile!
Review: Because I am giving a talk on infertility, I started looking into what has been published. Even though I am done with IVFs and we are looking into adoption, this book makes me chuckle at the stories it is filled with. It has its finger right on the pulse of how couples dealing with infertility feel. The question/answer style makes it an easy read. Whether you are at the beginning or end of the fertility game, this book has a lot to offer!

Summary: There are better choices out there.
Review: I did not learn anything from this book that I did not already know. Most of the information included comes under the definition of common sense. If you're looking for a book that will really give you practical strategies by which to deal with infertility issues, there are better ones out there. From a literary standpoint, this was not a well written piece.

From what I've been told, the authors don't have the best reputation for professionalism either.

Summary: a terrific help to those dealing with this painful issue
Review: I found the book to be most helpful to those dealing with the painful issue of infertility. The authors presented the information in an easy to read, informative style. The information provided is up-to-date. I recommend this book highly.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A very sensitive and practical guide to infertility issues.
Review: I found this book to be an easy to read, yet comprehensive guide for working through infertility problems and treatments. The question and answer format is particularly helpful - I found answers to questions I hadn't even been able to articulate. I felt much less lonely in the process.

My wife and I have finally conceived with the help of "modern medicine," but the emotional difficulties we experienced are not so readily resolved. I only wish we had this book earlier.

Thank you to the authors!
