Review: This book has nice, short bits to read in between doing stuff with your toddler (who has time to read an entire chapter at a time these days??). It was interesting enough to keep me in it to the end. I enjoyed most of the personal stories in the book. Also, it was easy to skip over the bits that I felt didn't apply to us. I got lots of great pointers out of this book, as well as reassurance about the methods I was already using.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This book guides you steop by step through potty training Review: This book is a wonderful combination of "true life" potty training stories and a step by step guide on how to potty train your child. This is a fairly short book, which is great, cuz you have so little time to read, when you have a 2 year old. It is written in a style that is really easy to read. The "true life" potty stories are helpful, and humorous. After reading this book I felt ready to start on the early stages of potty training with my 18 month old girl. We followed Jan's suggestions on watching for readyness, and working at the child's pace. We slowly worked through potty taining over a period of 3 months, by 21 months my little girl was wearing "undies" full time. This book was so helpful to me, that I really think it is a must read for all parents starting on potty training with their children.

Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Not helpful for training problems Review: This book is useful to parents who are preparing very young children for potty training, but not to those who are experiencing difficulties later on. Most of the strategies discussed can be found in other books, and I did all of the things recommended when my daughter was between 18 mos. and 3 years. At 3 1/2 she is still oblivious to the sensation of "going" and is totally indifferent to wet or dirty clothes (she does not seem to be resistant or hostile, just bewildered). I found it disheartening that even "problem" children discussed in anecdotes were younger than mine! Nothing in this book addresses problems like this. To be fair, every book about potty training I've read has the same failing: they are geared toward parents of young toddlers (or newborns), looking ahead toward potty training, not toward those encountering obstacles, or to those whose children are older or do not respond to the standard advice. When (if!)I get through this I'll have to write my own book.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Excellent book! Review: This is an excellent comprehensive resource for potty training. I purchased this book based upon the reviews on this site. I was definitely dreading the whole experience but reading the book changed my outlook. After reading it, I was reassured about the process with very few concerns. The results: my son has been very successful in his potty training with very few accidents. I've referred back to the book a few times for him as well as some of his friends (& their moms & dads) and have always found the information to be useful, insightful, and accurate. I highly recommend it.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The most helpful book on toilet training Review: This is the BEST book I have run across on the subject of toilet training. This book helped get my daughter trained when I was beginning to think it was impossible! Simple, common sense advice. Highly recommend!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: An excellent book! Review: When our daughter told my wife and I that she didn't want to wear diapers anymore, we knew we were in trouble. We had discussed strategies for potty training our daughter, but we were ill prepared for the complexities involved with sitting on the toilet. With years of personal bathroom experience under my belt, I felt like I could handle the responsibility of teaching my daughter the necessary tactics. What we never took into consideration was the psychological ups & downs, the endless questions, and detailed explanations about why people "pee-pee" and "poo-poo". If you're a parent, concerned about potty training your child, worry no more. "Mommy! I Have to Go Potty!: A Parent's Guide to Toilet Training" is an invaluable resource for the answers to the questions, the tricks to clean up the accidents, and more!

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great Choice Review: Where/how to start? That is the question on every parent's mind(especially new parents). Faull gives you a checklist in the beginning to determine if your child is ready for potty training. Then she goes over the how's of potty training with excellent examples of 'Stories from the Bathroom' depicting problem areas other parents have faced with their child/children so you don't feel like you're alone. It's a great source of information.
