Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Wonderful help for parents Review: I have a daughter that trained at 4 and I have a son who just turned 3. I didn't know where to start with a boy and I thought I did everything wrong with my daughter. I read this book and realized I did do things right by trying and then stopping for a couple of months, with her, if things were not progressing. This book has true bathroom stories and advice that makes you feel your not alone. It has some new tips. I like this womans style, not so high pressure, like the pediatric potty books. They are so agressive on age, pushing, etc. Hats off to Jan.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Faull knows her stuff Review: I have a two and a half year old who is very stubborn and loves to be catered to, thus has no interest in going to the potty. Faull offers sound advice and covers every possible aspect of training. No stone is left unturned. I am almost certain that you will recognize your child in the book and will be able to train accordingly. Faull is a hero to stressed out parents drowning in dirty pampers.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Wonderful help for parents Review: I have really had problems with training my little girl and she will be 4. I have been using this books ideas to help her with her training. I would say this is a parents training book since it points out what is wrong and right to approach girls and boys. I read the book cover to cover the same day I got it. I highly recommend.

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Recommended! Review: I like this book - I read the Barron's Keys Potty book first which had succinct step-by-step suggestions (and frankly, I like the Barron's book better) - this "Mommy...." book had more of the logic behind the suggestions. For instance, I was originally swayed by "when they're ready, they're ready" but I realized that there is a lot more I could have done to help my son get ready - and this book confirmed this notion. Some kids need more consistent, non-threatening structure so that they really will have potty success some day - which is a bit more than waiting for some nebulous, magical moment. I'm still reading this one, and I do like it so far.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great Approach, Tips, Case Studies Review: I read this book fully before deciding to toilet train my 3 yr 4 month old son "cold turkey". Although the title of this book is light, the approach to toilet training is not. This book presents a thoughtful, compassionate, child-centered approach to toilet training. I most appreciated the emphasis placed on not ending up in a power struggle with your child. The case studies were extremely helpful and kept the book interesting. The last chapter on bed wetting and soiling scared the heck out of me, and ensured that I did not pressure my child unduly. Result? My son had a bunch of accidents, but by the 10th day, he was totally trained for the daytime. (Although he wets the bed once or twice a week, we're still putting him in underwear at night. He'll get there.)
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Good if you're child's older Review: I read this book to prepare for toilet training our 2 year old. I found that the book focused on a lot of "examples" which were interesting to read about, but most did not seem applicable to people just starting out. If you are running into problems, I would recommend this book, but otherwise, I would look to other resources such as kids videos, kids books. I did not think it was a good prep guide for parents just starting training.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Wow! Great, great, great! Review: I recently bought this book after reading the reviews here (as well as reviews for other potty training books). This book is, and works, even better than I imagined! I started looking for potty training books when my daughter was about 16 mths. I am a first time mom who doesn't know where to begin! I read "Toilet Training in Less Than a Day" and decided that was the way to go. I purchased all the supplies but even though my daughter showed readiness signs around 18 mths, I could not bring myself to get started training! I think I was overwhelmed with remembering all the steps involved and afraid I'd make a mistake. I pretty much forgot about trying to do any potty training whatsoever - not knowing how to proceed - until last week when I finally bought this book. My daughter is now 26 mths. She showed some fear in sitting on her potty, though it has been part of our furnishings for 8 mths now. But after reading just the first 45 pages or so in the book, we have begun a routine of sitting on the potty for stories 2x a day clothed. Last night we have progressed to the next step, without a diaper. She doesn't think twice or give me any problems when I say "time to sit on your potty!" In fact, it's hard to get her off! I cannot wait to the next step: underpants for 2 hrs a day. So anyhow, this book was very brief. Like I said, the bulk of the info falls in the first 1/4 of the book - the rest tackles other problems. It got us started very quickly. I guess it never occured to me to start a potty training "program" slowly and with little, progressing steps. This book gave me confidence as a first time potty trainer and more importantly, a place to start! Yes, I will recommend this book to many others in similar situations. The moms I know say to wait until the child is 3+, but I thought that was ridiculous! The book says between 2 and 3 is a good starting age. As long as they show readiness signs, even if they aren't interested, you can start slowly but confidently! Good luck!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: He trained himself!!!! Review: I started training my 35 month old son little by little as I read this book. He trained himself before I finished the book! My son was definitely ready and this book helped me realize it. It gave me little tidbits of wisdom that had not entered my consciousness about how he would train, it helped me look for signs that would have otherwise only frustrated me. Your child will train in his/her own way, but my son trained in 8 days, slowly. We were in underpants when we were at home, diapers when were out. Last night we realized that although he was noticing when he pee'd a little in his underpants and wanted to go to the potty, he couldn't release. We changed the location of the potty and put it in front of the TV, where he pee'd in front of Sponge Bob in less than 30 seconds. (Hey, what can I say...?:-) For about 45 minutes he kept at it, saying, "I wanna do that again!" until finally, he pooped in the potty!!! We're very happy with the purchase of the book!!!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: At last, a book that covers everything! Review: I was so tired of reading the books that promised everyone success in a day! It seemed like I was the only one with a problem toilet training until I read this book. The stories made me laugh, made me cry, and most importantly, gave me the patience to keep at it because I'm not alone. This author had the answers to all my concerns, and wrote like a parent instead of a medical professional or psychologist. I have earmarked pages I read over and over when I feel like I'm losing my wits. Great book!
