Rating: Summary: Doesn't give you a sweet tooth! Review: After reading all the pregnancy books that people tell you to read I was frustrated. I had lost hope that there was one out there for me. I am 11 weeks along and have had the worst morning sickness. This book didn't sugar coat things for me, it told me how things were. Those "other" books just made me feel like something was wrong with me and that I should just eat a cracker! I would like to chuck a cracker at the authors of those other books. After reading many different books, this would be the only one that I would recommend, because at times pregnancy really does suck!
Rating: Summary: Finally! A pregnancy books that tells it like it is! Review: Author Joanne Kimes is not afraid to be blunt, and she has a sardonic wit that makes you realize that, yes, pregnancy can suck, but you will still be smiling. It seems that most women possess a convenient amnesia about their pregnancies. You will seldom get a straight answer about the discomfort of pregnancy from a woman who has a child over the age of two. The pregnancy has been forgotten by then, replaced by the child and its ensuing responsibilities. Little things like morning sickness, cramps, and constipation are left behind. But, when a woman is pregnant, and everyone is implying that she shouldn't be feeling as bad as she does, it tends to make a woman feel like she's over-reacting.Well, Joanne Kimes doesn't think you're over-reacting. She shares the bad and the good of pregnancy, and lets you know it's perfectly alright to be uncomfortable, sick, and grumpy while pregnant. The joys will eventually outweigh the negative aspects, but you are given permission to complain. And, with the tongue-in-cheek wit of her writing, it's a true joy to read. I felt so much better after reading this book, because it's fine if your pregnancy sucks. We are not bad mothers or bad women, we're just facing the facts! I highly recommend this book to all pregnant women.
Rating: Summary: Pregnancy Sucks is a Comic Relief! Review: Certainly not for everyone... so Stepford wives, beware. Some women do not find pregnancy as wonderful as it is made out to be. They are miserable and feel guilty complaining when others around them point out their little miracle and the good things to come. These women suffer silently through the horrors of pregnancy. Yes, I did say HORRORS and the author leaves out no details because it is too gross or inappropriate. "Pregnancy Sucks" was written in a fun and lively way that keeps the pages turning! This book should not replace any well-respected pregnancy guide, but serve as a fun read for those women who wonder, "Does anyone else feel this way?"
Rating: Summary: Pregnancy Sucks Review: Finally a book that understands what I'm going through. It gave me so much well needed support, advice and laughs. I highly recommend it to any pregnant woman who's finding that it's not necessarily the best time of her life.
Rating: Summary: OUTSTANDING!! Review: Hilarious and useful! Better than any of the technical books out there because it's written by a real, personable, and funny woman. I loved it and will read it over and over! ----C
Rating: Summary: A "no holds barred" hilarious, honest, and informative read Review: I LOVED this book. Although I love being pregnant, and my personal experience hasn't sucked, this book gives you the low-down dirt on what you REALLY go through. It has even relieved my fears of "pooping" during labor. It touches on the topics that everyone is either too embarassed or to uptight to talk about, but that we all wonder in the back of our heads. Joanne Kimes is so hilarious and she puts everything out on the table in a girlfriend to girlfriend type of way, which is a pleasant break from the "textbook" type pregnancy books that I have recently read. Her great sense of humor about the subject has helped put me at ease. Her honesty lets me know that I'm not the only one worried about "pooping" on the doctor. And I sincerely thank her for such a great book.

Rating: Summary: Must Have !!! Review: I've been reading every pregnancy book I can get me hands on. This one is by far the best. It's truthful, funny and the most helpful book out there. Pregnancy is a wonderful experience but it's taboo to discuss the reality of it. This book is real! Don't worry about the title, pregnancy is still a wonderful miracle. I look forward to going through it again, but I wouldn't do it without this book!
Rating: Summary: My kind of pregnancy book Review: If there is anything I know about those of us expecting, we love to complain. It is depressing to hear about easy pregnancies, glowing pregnant women, and what is "normal". This is the book for women like me, the bloated, cranky, zitty, scared gals that have gained a little too much weight. Now that makes me feel normal.
If you liked the Girlfriend's Guide or My Boys Can Swim, I highly suggest this book. Both my boyfriend and I learned a lot from this book and it honestly made me feel better about not loving pregnancy.
Rating: Summary: A GREAT BOOK! Review: Loved this book! It was so funny & helpful, but more importantly, it makes you feel ok to complain a little about this "wonderful, glowing" time in your life. It was hysterical (laugh out loud funny), which was so refreshing. Definitely worth it!!
