Rating: Summary: Excellent Book Review: This book is excellent in helpful info for baby's first year of rapid growth. We were able to know what to expect our baby to be doing around the time the book said. Not all babies are exact, which this book gives a clear understanding, which makes for a more relaxed outlook on the baby growth in the first year.
Rating: Summary: The BEST Baby Book Review: This book is fantastic -- even my daughter's doctors like it. It is the best guide I've seen. It starts with their very first day of life and goes right up to their first birthday. From games that are good to start playing this week to foods to new things you might notice about your baby's personality, health, etc., this book has it all. I am buying this for evey mom-to-be that I know. I eagerly open it every week to see what we can look forward to, experiment with, and smile about. BUY IT -- you will LOVE it!
Rating: Summary: Very Good Book! Review: This is a very good book! As a thirty-something first time mom I found this book to be very helpful. It is not a handbook so don't expect to read each week to find out exactly what baby will be doing (babies have their own schedules - gasp!). Read ahead and then re-read. No book will have all the answers. I used this book in conjunction with Dr. Spock's book, the guidance of our pediatrician, the support of other mom's and I learned to trust my instincts as to what is "right". No one book will have all the answers but this was fun and informative.
Rating: Summary: Out of date, gives HARMFUL advice Review: Unfortunately I didn't get much further in this book than its awful, out-of-date information on the care of the intact genital, which goes AGAINST EVERYTHING THE AAP ADVISES.If you follow the advice given here, you WILL cause harm to your son. TERRIBLY OUT OF DATE AND HARMFUL TO BABIES. (...)DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK.
Rating: Summary: Out of date Review: While there are parts of this book I enjoyed, there were many more frustrating aspects to it. The milestones seem to be consistently REALLY early. In a group of 20 babies, frequently only 1 or 2 have hit any of the milestones in the given time frame. In addition all of the feeding information is contrary to what my pediatrician has given (when and how to start solids, when to wean -- 4 months?). What to Expect was much more useful.
