The "written heirloom" shared with my beloved granddaughter had to be tied with a ribbon to close, it was so "chock full" of words, mementos tucked in alongside clippings, photos, artwork and other tidbits of love I wanted to share with her...and a similar project is in the works for her envious older brother! It may take awhile, but every memory shared will be worth it. Consider this book an investment in joy that will keep blessing on through the years.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A great way to shut up the old lady! Review: This book is terrific, especially if you have one of those grandmas that just babbles on and on, like some crazy bum in the subway. First of all, it will take her many, many silence-filled days to answer the billion questions in it. (You might even want to suggest that she fill the book out behind a closed door, for some "peace and quiet"...she won't realize that you mean YOUR peace and quiet!) But the best part is that after she's done, the gift keeps on giving and giving (to you). That's because every time she launches into some stupid old story, you can just cut her off by saying something like "Yeah, yeah Grandma, I remember that story...I read alllll about it in that book you wrote me! Say, this growing boy is gettin' kinda hungry, how about goin' into the kitchen and whippin' up a little something?" Works every time! By the way, you might even want to consider buying the book with her credit card...that way it don't even cost nothing!

Review: When I visit with old friends I take a copy of Grandmother Remembers instead of a bottle of wine or a box of cookies which are quickly consumed and as quickly forgotten. The response to this book is magical. It always evokes an evening of nostalgia and fun and memories of times past. It makes me feel good just thinking about it.
