Summary: One of the best gifts I ever gave a grandchild
Review: A perfect gift. I had so much fun writing for my first grandchild, and I relived so many memories, that I am now am working on "Grandmother Remembers" for my other three grandchildren. There is plenty of space (and prompting) for your own inspiration, yet lots of easy-to-fill blanks. I find these books especially interesting for children from multinational backgrounds, as they can learn about their ancestors' customs and how they grew up. The book covers everything! I recommend it highly to any grandparent who wants to be remembered as "special". But, I would also advise - take your time and let your inspiration and memories make this book a really meaningful gift. I used a pad to write things out first, and kept going back to edit and add before actually writing in the book. I hunted through old photo albums and boxes for just the right pictures. I found one picture of my oldest son's first Christmas, standing next to a toy that was almost identical to one we had given his son - our first grandson - on his first Christmas. I had not remembered that toy. But imagine my joy, and my grandson's surprise, when I closed the album with this particular snapshot!

Summary: Suitable for more "traditional" grandmother
Review: I bought this book as a christmas present for my grandmother on my father's side. However, I ended up giving it to my grandmother on my mother's side because my father's parents are divorced. This book is something that my grandmother would have enjoyed, had it not had such a focus on her dating, engagement, marriage, ect. Questions like, "What did he say when he purposed?" and "What would Grandpa want to tell the grandchild?" could be very painful to recall and possibly unanswerable. It's a great gift for my OTHER grandmother, though. I wouldn't reccomend it for the non-traditional situation. Three stars because, I almost was unable to give it as a gift at all.

Summary: A Treasure for Every Grandchild Who Loves their Grandma
Review: I bought this book in 1983 for my Grandma to fill out for me. Now that she has passed on, this book is a priceless, timeless gem, and a gift to me, as well as to my own children to pass down the stories, family tree, insight into the times when my Grandma was young, and is a great source of comfort for me. If you are a Grandma, buy the book and give this gift to your grandchild. It will make so much of a difference. It is a treasure that keeps alive everything you loved, what happened during each stage of your life, and will be treasured by any grandchild who treasures you.

Summary: Priceless
Review: I bought this book when it first came out in the 80's. My grandmother's life was always a mystery to my family. She never wanted to talk about it. This book helped her to realize that her life was important to us. The prompts were gentle and slowly she opened up to each question. Her story has helped us all to understand what she experienced. This book asks the gamit of geaneology questions and covers what we may not have thought about asking on our own. It has become the source for many a class project as our family trees are an ever famous topic through the various grade levels. This has been a way for my children to get to know their great grandmother and obtain the information from her first hand. It has made us realize the importance of obtaining one for each generation of the family.

She wrote about her life, my grandfather, her parents, brothers, sisters and most importantly my dad who passed away four months before she did. I found out things I had not known and would never have known because of my daddy's early death and my grandmother's untimely death. I treasure this book and read it often. I feel as though Ma and Daddy are still with me. If you have a grandmother who is very important to you or you have a special grandchild this is the gift to give. It is wonderful!
