Summary: Would have been a lot harder without this book
Review: A year ago my father became gravely ill and I have been working all this time to get him back to independent living. It has been a struggle and believe me, without The Complete Eldercare Planner I'd have never made it. With all my research and knowledge about caregiving to date, I can't help but wonder what people do that aren't knowledgeable.

Summary: I give this book to my clients
Review: As a family law attorney, my clients have many questions and concerns about their elderly family members, and their own aging process. I have found this book to be the best resource out there. I recommend it highly to professionals who are in daily contact with people who are dealing with family issues. I give them away to my clients and they are very appreciative.

Summary: Excellent Resource
Review: As an administrator of a retirement community, I find this book is a perfect answer to the many issues family members face on a daily basis. Unfortunately there simply isn't enough time in a day at our facility for lengthy family meetings and as a way to help families cope, we give them a copy of this book. It's a time saver and very easy to understand. I highly recommend it.

Review: As our parents age (heck, as we age), we'd better be thinking about caring for them, even if right now they're independent. Joy Loverde's workbook covers every possible topic you need to plan out, up to and including the dreaded nursing home decision. More than a workbook, it also includes a reference section so that you can access the many resources available to caregivers and their elderly charges.

Summary: No more going it alone
Review: Before the Complete Eldercare Planner came along I thought I had to do everything myself. After I read this book I found out that there was a whole lot more help out there. This book tells me everything about eldercare - things that I never would have thought of on my own. I cannot even image handling all the problems of caring for elderly parents without this easy to read book. The chapter about talking to elderly parents was extremely helpful. The suggestions worked.

Review: Can you believe this? My teenage daughter and my 87 year old father eneded up in the hospital at the very same time - two emergencies at the same time. I literally did not know what end was up. I happen to go to one of Joy's workshops where I work about six months ago, and everything she said that was going to happen -- happened. I was well prepared because of this book. What I like best about the book is that fact that every question I needed to ask the staff at the hospital is there in black and white. Thank goodness I had sense enough to buy The Complete Eldercare Planner far before I had any problems with my Dad. My advice for you? Buy two books and make sure other family members have a copy so you don't have to go through any problems by yourself.
