Summary: great!
Review: I just got a copy of "Mothering Multiples: Breastfeeding and Caring for Twins or More" by Karen Kerkhoff Gomada published by La Leche League International. I haven't finished it yet, but I'd highly recommend it so far. While, it has a short section on pregnancy, it, as the title suggests, focuses more on after labor, so you might want another Twin pregnancy book as well. The great thing about this book for me was, as an "older" first time mom, I had already formed pretty strong ideas about the way I would have and take care of my baby if I ever got around to having one. My first reaction to twins was joy and excitement, then the worry set in. Would I be able to take care of two infants in the way I planned? (attachment parenting) The first evening this book was in my hands I was immediately calmed and reassured, now I can get back to that excitement!

Summary: The best way to prepare for your twins!
Review: I'm not a big fan of La Leche League (the publisher), but breastfeeding my twins has been a wonderful experience for me and I couldn't have done it without this book. The number one thing I took from it was that I needed to be prepared and learn all I could BEFORE the babies got here. Because of this book, I contacted my local lactation counselor and rented a breast pump a week before my boys arrived. Within 12 hours of delivery (by c-section), I was pumping in-between feedings. Before we left the hospital, I had tried tandem nursing a few times. Now my boys are 10 months old and are nursing champs. The first three months were the hardest, but this book was such a valuable resource and encouraged me to keep at it. I'm SO glad I did.

Summary: This is book is pure propaganda.
Review: If I was unsure about breastfeeding I would not have bought this book. I would have bought a book titled "Should I breastfeed?" or the "Benefits of Breastfeeding." This book spends 1/2 of every paragraph spouting off about why breast milk is better for your baby, and if you baby does not get breast milk then their immune system will be shot for life, and if your baby gets a bottle nipple or pacificer then your baby will have this problem when it gets older.

I wanted a book that would help me figure out how to breastfeed two babies at once. I wanted time management, tips, and techniques. This book inlcudes that but to find it you have to sift through all the breast milk is better propoganda.

A much better book for mother's expecting twins is "When you're expecting twins, triplets, or quads" by Dr. Barbara Luke.

The author of Mothering Multiples had her twins 20 years ago!!

Summary: Truly a life saver
Review: This is just the best book. I ordered it three weeks after my twin boys were born and I was beginning to despair that I'd be able to breastfeed them even to three months, much less six months as I'd hoped. As soon as it arrived, I couldn't put it down. Finally! A book that actually discussed how to breastfeed twins. Not just a little paragraph advising patience and talking about the double-clutch hold as if it were some holy grail, but details and encouragement galore. By the second day after the book arrived, my boys and I were already doing better. They're now 3.5 months old and while I don't have quite the support network in place to breastfeed them exclusively, we're actually using less formula than we used to. My goal now is to breastfeed them for their entire first year, and with this book to refer to, I feel confident we'll make it.

I echo the comments of another reviewer, that if you're expecting twins - get this book NOW. The best thing you can do is to be prepared. I didn't get nearly the support at the hospital I'd hoped for, as far as breastfeeding my twins goes, and so this book was just invaluable to me. Without this book (and a good breast pump), I doubt I'd still be breastfeeding my boys today.

Summary: Every expecting mother of multiples should have this book!
Review: This is the finest book on multiple pregnancy, birth, and parenting on the market. This book should be placed in the hands of every woman the moment she discovers she is expecting multiples. The wisdom, insight, and real-life situations closely match the reality of having multiples. My twins are over 2 years old and I found quite a bit of good information to help me.I have been researching books for parents of multiples and this is by far the best book I have come across. There is a good deal of fantastic information on breastfeeding, but there is also incredible information on pregnancy issues, like preventing prematurity, as well. In addition, Ms. Gromada has information on items you do and don't need with multiples, which could have saved me quite a bit of money! I only wish this book would have been available when I was pregnant.
