Summary: Good Read
Review: I recommend this book to anyone. Whether you maintain a great relationship with your partner or not, this book is simply fun to read. As some reviewers said, you may feel that the authors are over generalizing the idias. But I think they are just trying to make a point.

My boyfirend and I both read this book and we both like it. We promised to each other that he wouldn't call me stupid just because I don't really know about computers and don't understand the rules of baseball, that I wouldn't call him useless just because he can't cook and clean.

Summary: from Moscow
Review: Hi ! The book is great! It is very useful and I believe it is really saving couples, may be even lives and brings people hope and happiness. Little books and little author can do that. The Russian edition is a bestseller here in Moscow. I offered the book to several friends and all of them loved it. One in particular: he just came out of a long and painful divorce, there were court procedures, two kids are unhappy to have their mum and dad separated and so on and so forth. The book came unfortunately a bit too late... But it's now (according to the friend's mother) The Book for the guy. He is analyzing his past faults and misunderstandings and who knows, may be his old family will revive or the new one will be a much better experience. Thank you, Barbara and Allan!

Summary: At Last! Some light on "the battle of the sexes".
Review: So nice to know, at last, that we are not just trying to annoy one another. There is a REASON why we do the dumb things that we do to one another. In all my voracious and omnivorous reading, this is the first thing I have read that makes any sense out of the subject. Should be a required class for every school student over the age of 12 or so - and take the book home to keep! Gives an UNDERSTANDING of WHY there are the DEEP differences. Cannot recommend it highly enough!

Summary: For all those arguments with your spouse...
Review: Great book!! A quick and easy read, straightforward and sometimes very hilarious. Every couple should be able to glean some good information from this book. I especially liked the description about how men and women brush their teeth differently!

Summary: FANTASTIC READ
Review: What a funny but very informative book for both sexes. It was a real eye opener to both my partner and myself ! So good, I've order another 6 copies for christmas presents.

Summary: theories not facts
Review: This book although claiming to reveal the reasons why men and woman are different, fails to deliver.

the Peases present their theories as Facts in many areas where qualified experts in this field are still in the process of carefully analysing and researching data scientifically .

This book on the whole oversimplifies and categorizes men and women in a too a narrow range.

Men and women fall into many different categories even within their own gender, not just one as the peases seem to think.

Researchers who have carefully studied gender differences have documented that such categories as the scientifically predisposed woman or the psychically gifted man are quite common. eg. madamme curie and edgar cayce types.

This book tends to feel that women cant do math to a high degree and all men are somewhat incapable of sensitivity.

Perhaps the peases are trying to ride the common trend of promoting man bashing as an easy way of making money, as I could'nt really find more than one area in which men were spoken of in a good manner in this book.

This book is somewhat humorous but sadly lacking in in scientific evidence to back up their claims, often they quote "studies show that.." without offering the reader a reference as to which study , when and by whom the study they are referring to had been conducted.

Overall I think the Peases have delivered a poorly researched badly put together piece of work.

What a shame!

Summary: Gender Differences Lite
Review: I support the theory of genetic gender differences, but this book contains a plethora of generalizations, and many theories presented as "facts". The authors state that their book is based on "hard scientific evidence", but there are no academic credentials listed for them on the inside jacket. Keep this in mind while reading.

Summary: Not funny, no...definately not.
Review: Most of the information in this book you would probably already guess. It is very generalised and it is certainly not funny. I find that the attempted jokes are somewhat lame but it's certainly easy for reading and understanding about women and men in general. It includes topics such as sexual orientation, gender abilities and behaviour. The part that I find most interesting is the quiz on how male or female orientated you are. I do find it interesting how they say males are more.. let's say vulnerable to falling in love in Autumn. Now I read in Couplehood by Paul Reiser that he felt there was something about Autumn that made him happy (lovey dovey?)(although he thinks it's something to do with the freshly mowed grass) Hrmm... :)

Summary: A relief!
Review: Finally someone who dare to say it! I found this book very entertaining and clever. It is certainly not politically correct, although it is more acceptable to claim gender differences today than ten years ago. The authors are brave enough to counter popular pc human "science". Some of the explanations offered are obviously experimental and taken out of the Australian air, yet most of the conclusions seem to make sense. I think you fail if you read this book as a scientific report -- it was certainly not meant as such -- but anyone with his (sorry: her) integrity intact, will benefit largely from reading this book.

Summary: OVERSIMPLIFIED AND OVERGENERALIZED!
Review: This book is an oversimplification and overgeneralization. MOST of the behaviors men and women do differently are the result of training and conditioning, not biology. I know many, many women and men who do not fit these recipes for how the genders think and act. Women who have been raised in homes where they were encouraged to do things that were not tradionally feminine often do the same behaviors as men in many areas. In the same way, men raised or exposed to sensitive male role models DO listen. As a woman, I am furious with being stereotyped--because I and many women I know just don't fit with what you say.
