Summary: Little Big Book for "GRAND" Moms
Review: A dear friend of mine (a music teacher) bought this book as a shower gift for our first grandchild. She commented that nursery rhymes were a very important contribution for preparing a child for future math & music skills. After looking at this little treasure of a book, I couldn't put it down. It brought back memories of my own childhood and the pleasures of being read to. I had to order a copy for myself to keep on hand for those rainy days and sleepovers at Grandmother's house. Some of the most famous & gifted authors (from generations past to the present) are represented in this collection. What a fantastic way to introduce a young child to the charms of literature, music and craftsmanship. There's something to offer every child from babyhood to adulthood. A must for every GRAND Mom.

Summary: Brings back memories
Review: As a first-time mom, my husband bought me this book for my birthday! I absolutely love it!! The illustrations are beautiful and the variety of poems, stories & recipes are great. I'm glad the lyrics & hand motions to a lot of children's songs are included since I forgot most of them. It brought back memories of the songs I used to sing as a kid. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: A real treasure!
Review: Don't panic if you don't remember the "thumbkin"words. They're here. And so are lots more ideas, stories, stuff and more stuff than you ever could remember from your childhood. The illustrations remind you of your old books, the recipes we never had, but sound great. It's the hottest book given at baby showers in my area. I'm buying one just to have it on hand so I don't have to part with mine.

Summary: little it isn't!
Review: I got this book for a new mom and she **loved** it. It was the hit of Christmas. It's full of wonderful illustrations, stories, poems, recipes, and songs. This is one of those books that is a classic great gift. This book is just crammed with great stuff, and would take weeks for a mom to go through and pick out her favorites. I can't believe the amount of care and love that they editors put in gathering the contents and putting them together. I wish they would put out a "Little Big Book for Young Women Finding Their Way" so I could have one, too! I've given "The Little Big Book" as gifts before, and everyone raves about them. If you are looking for a really special gift, or want to treat yourself to something that you will pass on to your children, this little book is the way to go.

Review: I really liked this book when I picked it up at the store. I thought it was cute, great illustrations, old fashioned looking, had some nice nursery rhymes. Great, I bought it.
Then I picked it up one night to read some of the fairy tales to my daughter. And I couldn't -- they were really weird versions of fairy tales. Maybe they're PC or something, but they were really odd.
So it was really cute, and they got me to buy it, but I can't recommend it to anyone else.
