Review: After 27 years of trying to find just the right diet that balances my desire for healthy eating with my need to manage my weight, The Hamptons Diet finally gets it right. Organic vegetables, fruits and whole grains, minimally processed products, Macadamia nut oil (the most exquisite oil I've ever tasted) and recipes to die for,...all within the context of a controlled carbohydrate, mediterranean style diet! How could eating or weight management get better than this? Well done, Dr. Pescatore...my diet book days are over...I'm home in the Hamptons!

Summary: the healthiest way to eat
Review: As a physician, I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of this book and have already stared incorporating it into my practice. I am seeing amazing results with my patients and their weight loss and more importantly their health. Believe me, I have read almost every diet book out there and this one makes the most sense. I believe in low carbs, as I too was trained by Dr. Atkins, but always felt a bit uncomfortable with all that fat. As far as I know, this book is the only one that differentiates the good and bad fat backed by science. This book will ignite the medical community into learning about the power of nutrition. Furthermore, the recipes are outstanding, never could I have thought of some of these recipe ideas.

Review: Being an owner of an online diet support center, I come by many diets (some fad) offering ways upon ways to lose weight without keeping the main key person (the reader) in mind.

It is a South Beach Diet meets Atkins, but I still stand by SBD as a safe healthy way to lose weight.

Well written and well understood by all ( The Reader).

Summary: Lose weight, stay healthy
Review: Dr. Pescatore's approach to weight loss focuses on good health as much as shedding extra pounds. He bases his food suggestions on clinical research that shows the benefits of a diet rich in monounsaturated fats and void of simple carbs. The Hamptons Diet has taught me to eat better, more wholesome foods. While many fad diets are quick to encourage dieters to follow unwise meal plans, The Hamptons Diet is centered on fresh, organic, unprocessed foods that will reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, etc. It's refreshing to find a weight loss plan that takes proper nutrition and preserving a healthy body seriously.

Summary: Great reference
Review: Everyone who eats any food at all should buy this book. Dr. Pescatore's summaries of the Omega 3, 6, and 9 content, saturation percentage and smoke point of various cooking oils is absolutely priceless.

And I wholeheartedly agree with his stance against over-refinement and processing of our foods. That's one of the things Dr. Atkins disliked and expressed so profoundly in his earlier books (that is until Atkins Nutritionals Inc began stirring in the low carb pot).

Summary: Your book is the answer to my diet prayers!
Review: Finally, there is a diet that incorporates a healthy organic lifestyle in a low carb protein diet. I was constantly bouncing from a healthy organic diet program to a unhealthy protein diet because there was no such thing as a healthy protein diet until the Hamptons Diet. Its great that it is safe for my daughter too! At one point both my husband and I were on Atkins and my daughter was on Weight Watchers and my son on whatever he wanted. Now, everyone in my family can eat like this! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Summary: A Cardiologist's Blessing from LA
Review: I am so glad for the Hamptons Diet. If you take time to read this book and learn from Dr. Pescatore's 11 years of practicing nutritional medicine, you will see that this is the future of weight loss. It is the first sane, practical approach that I have ever seen. I can't tell you how much better it is than South Beach and heads and tails above Atkins. Talk about sellling one's soul. Atkins sold out long before he died and Agaston signing a deal with Kraft is like signing a deal with the devil. I could never recommend my patients to follow the Atkins program but thought I could recommend South Beach but I was upset by the lack of depth of any knowledge or information in that book.

As a cardiologist, monounsaturated fats are the healthiest fats to eat and Dr. Pescatore should be applauded for pointing that simple fact out and taking the time to explain how to understand cooking oils - by far the most misunderstood yet critical parts of our diet. And he does it in such a way that I have photocopied that chapter and hand it out to all my patients and they are all enjoying it much more than SB. I don't know what his interest in MacNut oil is but I sure wish I had thought about it - good going and keep up the great work Dr. P

Summary: You don't need macadamia nut oil to lose weight on this plan
Review: I don't know about anyone else, but I have been doing this diet wihtout using macadamia nut oil and have had the same amazing results as the people in his book. I am using olive oil and some other oils and doign really well and have lost 18 pounds in one month following this program - the most weight I have ever lost. I had to read the book twice to see that Dr. Pescatore is simply giving us a healthy way to eat for the rest of one's life. He is trying to make sense of all the fads and trends out there to make low carb a sustainable way of life and to be healthy in the long run. I am so happy for Dr. Pescatore and The Hamptons Diet and I can't wait to lose more weight
