Rating: Summary: Indigo soul color Review: In reply to Ilene Gex, the Indigo phenomenon is not about aura color, but about soul color. The soul is not the same as the aura; it is in fact much bigger than the aura. The auras of the Indigo children can be any combination of colors.
This is not a "New Age" thing, although there is a lot of "new age" information around about "Indigos" and "Crystals", some of which is confusing and inaccurate. It has been known by the ancient mystery schools for thousands of years that there is a Ray of the Age, and that souls born within an Age predominantly have the soul color of that Ray. The Ray of the Age changed to Indigo in 1975 (it was Violet before that), and humans born since then predominantly have an Indigo soul color - a lesser percentage in the beginning but almost 100% now.
That said, I think that there is great information available about the Indigo children in this book.
Rating: Summary: A MUST Have! Review: I bought this book for my oldest child who has been diagnosed with ADD, looking for an alternative to medication. I ended up realizing my middle child is an Indigo Child. Even if you do not believe in metaphysical, this book has alot of helpful tips and advise for parents with children that share the qualities described here. It will help to better understand your child, and how to relate to that child. This will help you to build a closer, more functional relationship with your child. I've actually learned how to work "with" my daughter, while still feeling like the parent, and we both feel happier with eachother now. This book is enlightening.
Rating: Summary: Interesting Viewpoint Review: Reading this book gave me some new hope, but I can't help feeling skeptical at the same time.
I have been doing some reading to try to expand my mind and do some soul-searching. I have ADD and so do my children. I see many familiar traits in the book that fit all of us.
Since I am a Christian, I had some trouble with the new age references, but I promised myself I would keep an open mind. I am glad I did, as I now have some new ideas and interventions to frame some of the situations my children and I find ourselves in a more positive and productive light.
All three of us have special sensations and intuition at times; odd feelings that came to fuition, dreams that mirrored reality before the event came to pass, and almost being able to read eachothers' minds. However, I think all people have these abilities, but some are more in tune with them or more sensitive than others.
Take what you can from this book to help understand yourself or your kids, but don't take everything at face value. Children still need boundaries, discipline, and the "3 R's" to succeed in this world. Proceed accordingly.
Rating: Summary: for parents who don't want to set limits: authors get rich Review: Now we have a New Age, pseudopsychological explanation for why kids who are not taught any limits act up in school. I recommend books by Alfie Kohn for some real information on raising kids with loving kindness AND limits who will know how to make it in the Real World where not everyone will share Mommy's view that Johnny is a gift from god, and more special than other kids.
What a disservice to parents and children!
Rating: Summary: Only an alternative language Review: This book basically describes the same people that Carl Jung discribed in Psycological Types. If you continue to read you will realize that these children have always been around in about 1%-5% of the population. Think about how society has changed and why these children are currently being labeled then do a little research about children like Einstein. You will find out that society today in general does not desire children like Einstein in our public schools. If you really want to understand your child and help him/her succeed in todays world continue to read and enlarge your languages. I recommend really learning about Myers Briggs Type Indicator and once you have learned the language (yes it's a bitter harder than giving people a color aura) try reading Nurture by Nature by Paul D. Tieger and Barbara Barron-Tieger
Rating: Summary: finally an answer Review: This book helped me to completely understand my children. I am now able to nurture and promote their gifts so that they can become the loving leaders of a new humanity. I also recommend parent and educators of Indigo children to get Indigo Dreams CD. My children love the techniques in the stories that show them what I couldn't. How to harness and manage their own energy as they tap into their own awareness. Both this book and Cd are invaluable if you are involved with Indigo Children
