Summary: The art of a baby
Review: I never had this book with my two children. Now that I have it, it is a wonderful experience to share with my daughters as we go through my pregnancy.

I encourage all mothers whether it's your first or your third to get this book and share in the excitement.

Review: I think this is a wonderful book. It takes you from conception to birth and it shows you actual pictures of the development and what is going on inside.

Summary: This was an excellent book toshow how much labor will hurt!
Review: I thought that this was an excellent book, and I am very glad that I read it. I hope that I do not have to go through what those women had to go through. They looked as though they were in so much pain they could die! I am in labor as I write this, and the book really helped me to know what is in store for me. Hang on a second, I am having a strong contraction. OOHHH! I hope the head comes out soon, I can't take the pain any longer! If you are pregnant, make sounds when you give birth, it helps. Oh yeah, and be afraid of the pain! Be very afraid! I think I am going to pass out! Remember, keep your legs apart! OOHHH!

Summary: I loved it
Review: I thought this book was great and constantly go back to it as a reference. It's the only book that can give you a what could be happening to your body every few days while other books go month by month. The pictures are a little scary at first but after you read about them its truly fascinating. If anyone knows any other books that can give a factual day by day drop me an email
Anyone trying to conceive or trying to avoid pregnancy should definitely pick up taking charge of your fertility by Weschler

Summary: Thanks mom!
Review: I was first shown this book by my mother in the early '90s. She was so amazed by the photography that she felt I had to look. I didn't think much about it again until last year shortly after my wife became pregnant. I saw it in a thrift store, remembered the amazing photographs, and bought it for my wife without hesitation. She absolutely loved it, and kept it with her all the way through her pregnancy. The only reason I'm giving it four instead of 5 stars (and the only real downside to the book) is that it kind of skips over the second trimester. Still, no other book that I know of has photos that even compare to this, making it a must-have for any expecting parent, and one of the best gifts you could give a mother-to-be. In addition to the photographs, there is also a lot of helpful advice for expectant mothers on how to take care of themselves during this special time in thier life. It's neat to actually see what changes are going on inside and how a mere two cells develop into a person. I'm so glad my own mother showed this book to me, otherwise my wife and I would've probably missed out on this fascinating book.

Summary: Outstanding
Review: I was so pleased to find a book about pregnancy that was not preaching to me. It simply let me know what was happening inside my body and how my baby was developing. It was wonderful to see what my child looked like during which week I was in. It let my know the facts without telling me how to live my life. I highly recommend this book to every woman who is pregnant. I wish there were more books like this available to expectant mothers.

Summary: Absolutely incredible
Review: I wore this book out over the course of two pregnancies. I looked at it nearly daily for the first few weeks, then monthly for the rest of my pregnancy. The photography is spectacular. It doesn't just show the baby as a whole, it shows development of things like the eyes and the hands.

While many people find the birth pictures too graphic, I found them to be just as incredible as the rest of the pictures in the book. It was hard to look at at first, but after giving birth the first time it was really amazing to see what is happening.

This was a great book and is the first one I lend to my friends who find out they're pregnant. I hope every woman who has or wants to have children gets the chance to look through this book.

Summary: The only book you'll need to guide you through pregnancy.
Review: If you are pregnant,...this is the one book you must have. This was my bible through my first pregnancy. Now that I am pregnant with my second,...my first child loves to be able to see how big the baby really is. The pictures are incredible,..the text is just as helpful. This was the only book that I used. Graphic and to the point,....my husband knew just what to expect when my labor pains finally started. Buy the book!!!!

Summary: Excellent pictures
Review: If you want to know what the baby growing inside of you looks like, this is the book for you. A Child is Born has been a part of our pregnancy library since we were pregnant with our first child. My husband and I followed the growth of our baby through its detailed pictures. During our next three pregnancies, our children were thrilled to see what their sibling-to-be looked like as each week of the pregnancy progressed. A great book for the whole family. I also recommend The Pregnancy Book for lots of general information about being pregnant; She's Having a Baby and I'm Having a Breakdown for a look at pregnancy from the eyes of the father-to-be; and We're Pregnant! for a down-to-earth look at life as an expectant couple. Read and enjoy.
