Summary: Barbara is a Godsend!
Review: I have read several of Barbara's books, and they have all been very helpful. The insights that she provides into the workings of relationships and the human mind are easy to understand yet powerful and potentially life-changing!
Some readers have criticized her because she has had several failed relationships, but she has learned from those failures and from the people she has counseled, which I think makes her much better suited to give advice! Her books are very straightforward, even a little simplistic, but they will help you see patterns in your life and learn what you can do to make changes for the better. This book is for anyone who's been through not-right or almost-right relationships and wants to understand why things didn't work and how to choose better the next time. A great book for both women and men. If more people would stop and take this advice into consideration, they could save themselves a lot of heartache.
A note: Many of Barbara's books overlap one another, sometimes with whole passages repeated verbatim from one book to another. For instance, I read this book followed by her book "The Real Rules" and found the second book to basically be a watered-down version of this one. Get this book and you'll be in good shape. Women, I also recommend "Secrets About Men Every Woman Should Know." Men might even benefit from that book; it reveals some great insights about why men do the things they do, and even my usually stubborn ex admitted that most of it was dead-on.
Basically, you can't go wrong with Barbara! Her books are super cheap and are packed with great advice. Do yourself a favor and check them out!

Summary: From the Queen of Break-ups
Review: You to can justify leaving your spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend, whatever. Just pack up your belongings and the kids and take off. Don't worry about it, it is the RIGHT thing to do. Just read this book she has managed to leave FIVE husbands, so she has all the answers when it comes to making you want to give up and get away. If you are the least bit dis-satisfyed with a relationship this is the book for you, don't try to make things work out, don't try to resolve issues, just pack-up and go. Beverly should rename this one to: "You Aren't the One for Me!" If you really want to leave someone this book will help you do it "Guilt-Free" it will show you what a rotten lousy person you are with, without ever holding the mirror to yourself. A great help for anyone wanting to leave a relationship without ever thinking they might have done anything wrong.

Summary: Insightful
Review: When I bought this book, I thought it was a book based on biblical scriptures. I quickly found that it wasn't however, the material in the book is excellent. I found myself looking at me, my past and seeing why I was getting what I was getting in past relationships. A lot of time we blame our partner but we must also look at ourselves, we need to be more selective with whom we allow to enter our lives. This book is a good resource tool. It allows you to look at yourself and determine what to (and not to) look for in a potential mate.

Summary: A journey from heartbreak to self-understanding
Review: The advice given in this set is very, very good. I have taught and researched interpersonal communication for about 30 years, so I think I know whereof I speak. The delivery, however, is slightly flawed in that the author/narrator speaks TOO FAST. This is especially irksome on the second tape. Nonetheless, this is an excellent set and I encourage anyone reconsidering their relationship commitment to listen to this set.
If you can get this set delivered for under [price], inclusive of shipping, it would be a particularly good buy. I also very highly recommend Daphne Kingma's "Coming Apart" audio set, which is on this same subject and which is truly excellent
both in content AND delivery. She has a measured, clear, nice speaking voice. I look forward to Kingma's next book on tape. If it is even remotely as good as this one, I will instantly purchase it. If you yourself have other highly recommended tapes this or similar subjects, please advise:....
