Fit for Life explained the interworkings of our biological disgestive body cycles and made me aware of how our bodiess react or counter-react to every thing we eat. I've adopted the "fruit in the morning regime" ten years ago and cannot imagine going back to full course breakfast way of eating. Although I sometimes struggle with the proper food consumption, I am constant with the fruit consumption. I've told countless numbers of people about this change in eating habits and probably should be on the payroll. But it feels great to be able to shed light on such a commonplace problems as obesity, digestive problems, etc. I look and feel better because of Fit for Life. I am definitely a believer.

Of course you will feel better and lose weight if 70% of your daily food intake is fresh fruits and vegetables. Despite being able to lose weight with those no-carb diets, eating all the bacon you like and no fruit at all just can't be healthy. This book helped me lose 30 pounds in 6 weeks, cured my acne and even helped me sleep through the whole night. I actually had to eat extra protein and carbs to keep from losing too much weight too quickly. Even if you don't follow the principles at every meal you will look and feel much better!

I was so toxic that I was constantly bloated and had horrible dermatitis on my face, I had a rapid heart beat when resting and I was only 23. My husband was hypoglycemic and suffered from chronic fatigue. I was sceptical but figured I had nothing to lose.The first day was amazing I ate fruit till noon and felt awesome, we had veggie sandwiches for lunch and a salad for dinner and for the first time in my life I was satisfied and did not feel deprived! Within one week my dermatitis was completely gone and now 4 months later I have not had a single outbreak, I no longer suffer form bloating and my heart rate is normal and healthy, my husbands health problems are also gone, we feel like 2 totally different people. I work out 20 min per day and love it! I have lost 5 dress sizes and close to 60 lbs! I am amazed. Thank you for sharing this information so that I may be healthy and enjoy my daughter! I recommend this book to everyone.

I started it on a recommendation from someone else, and lost two pounds the first week, and three the next, and . . . More than sixty pounds total, in just over three months, to get me to my goal weight and -- aside from one serious lapse where I didn't follow the program at all for several months -- then keep me there. And I felt wonderful the whole time, and was never -- and I mean absolutely never -- hungry when I finished eating or while running around all day, and I didn't and still don't limit portions. The food is good, the program makes sense, and I recommend it without reservation. Do I lapse occasionally? Yeah, unfortunately. If I didn't have an eating problem, I wouldn't have been sixty pounds overweight to begin with. Does the program make it possible to stay at my target weight in spite of occasional lapses? Yes. And (from the one time I REALLY fell off the wagon) to get back to it easily and painlessly.

I origanally went on it to fit into a bathing suit, I have since gained back 40lbs because I did not stick to proper food combining. Let me tell you if you follow it it works. Don't make the mistake I made. If you can make it past the first two weeks of detoxing you can stick with it. The book is very easy to understand and there is not extra expenses involved. You do not need to be able to eat all kinds of food that you would not normally go out and buy. Make it the way you like to eat and don't stress over it. The fact that I sleep better on this program, and I seem to have unlimited patiece with everything is difficult to denie. Even my family thinks I am a better more active person. I have owned this book since 1994. And I would lend it to anyone. Even when I was not on the program I still used to book for quick pick me ups. good luck.

Review: The thinnest and healthiest I have ever been was the year and a half I adhered to the eating habits in this book. It's a great way to detox your body, eat more healthfully, and also rid yourself of any gastronomic distress. Harvey Diamond describes the human body as if it were a machine, and how that machine needs the optimal fuel to keep itself going. Bad fuel can clog up the machine, and good fuel can streamline it. The chapters on detox, body cycles, and the importance of water are worth the price of the book alone. . . I read this book again every now & then for motivation and to get myself back on the bandwagon of healthy eating. If you feel uncomfortable at the beginning of the program, that's because you're releasing too many toxins too fast. (Read through the detox chapter before you start!) Stick with it, and you will see results. I lost fat, increased muscle mass, and had great skin while eating this way (working out moderately). Take his ideas with a grain of salt, measure his arguments in your own mind, and try it for yourself. A lot of his theories, which were heretical in the '80s when he wrote it, are now being touted by universities and health authorities.

I stopped the diet the 5th day with a loss of 5lbs. Not too bad, but the headaches weren't worth it. I Lost my original book and have ordered a new one. I think the detox was too much for my body. I smoked at the time and I'm sure that had a lot to do with it. I believe if I include the 6 food groups in the plan this time it will work better. It's a good book, it just needs a little help.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: common sense prevails Review: im only 3\4 through is book,all of the information provided makes complete sense..we are more genetically designed to eat fruits and veges than we are to rip into an animal .there seems to me to be great logic in this theory.this book delivers very good sound info ,and very well backed up in research..if you go for a period of eating no red meat then dive into nice juicy steak,im not saying it doesnt taste great,however,the next day when you goto releive yourself it really doesnt smell to good.this is in fact,rotting meat just sitting there poisoning our systems.SOCIETY has proved time and time again that it has the power to make us beleive what it wants us too.the aquisitions,witch hunts ,RELIGION,sexuality,to name a few.all of these were beleifs that were instilled at birth by parents who in turn were told by society what is RIGHT+WRONG. it does therefore make sense that our eating habits instilled in us could very well be wrong for us .really consider the info in this book....

Review: I tried this program 2 years ago and was amazed at the results, I have lost 40 lbs. and have kept it off! I recently had a pacemaker surgery and developed a condition known as RSDS this is a condition also known as chronic pain and I have not been able to exercise and to my surprise keeping with the principles I have only gained about 3 lbs! I no longer call this a diet it is simply the way I eat and I can truly say I look better than I have in years.
