Rating: Summary: sensory secrets how to jump start learning in children Review: Of everything that I've read this is the best book. Its a fairly quick read. It's broken down into very specific catigories. It gives you warning signs. It tells you how to work on a problem with professionals. It shows you hundreds of ways to work on each specific sensory motor problem. It also helps you to evaluate your own child and explains how certain holes in the learning foundation could quickly lead to learning diviculties later on in life (early grade school). If you feel that there is a problem with your child and you can't put your finger on it - this is the book that will give you invaluable stepping stones.

Rating: Summary: This book gives me new perspectives in everyday life... Review: Sensory Secrets identifies major areas where children may need help and are now being blaimed for their behaviors. It sure did give me lots of "food for thought."
Rating: Summary: Rating Sensory Secrets Review: Sensory Secrets is like a receipe for the preliminary steps important to succeed in an academic environment. It is written in a very logical and easy to follow fashion. Thus it can be easily used by professionals and parents alike. It is also unique in that I have never seen another book quite like this one. It's a quick read and can be a very effective guide.
Rating: Summary: Licensed Physical Therapist reviews Sensory Secrets Review: Sensory Secrets is the first source of information on Sensori-Motor Processing that is written in plain English. Most sources include enough scientific terminology that the average person gets lost in the text. Finally, there is a book to explain the importance of touch and movement in young children to the average person. It's a must for all parents, and for any individual working with children.

Rating: Summary: Kathleen from Michigan ... Easy Reading... Review: Sensory Secrets was easy to read, yet contained a great deal of important information that is usually difficult to understand. I am planning on using the Foundational Skills Inventory at home and in work situations.
Rating: Summary: easy to understand Review: Sometimes books on the sensory systems are a hard read for non Occupational Therapists. This book was easy to follow with great examples of what to do to help with certain problem areas. I bought one and bought a second one for my son's teacher! I think the book is very helpful, hit vital points and actually made sense. I highly recommend it for a good read on sensory issues.
