Summary: Not Pleased
Review: I view this over-priced publication as counter-productive drivel having little to do with its title.

Summary: A pretty amazing book with some startling revelations
Review: Anyone, anywhere, who has ever lived with a person who has been diagnosed with "Borderline Personality Disorder", will recognize many facts in this book. Many realistic solutions are also offered. The amazing part is that if you have lived with a Borderline Personality Disorder Person long enough, you will recognize qualities within yourself that you are exhibiting! It is as if, in a way, the "disease" is contagious. I learned much about myself, my partner, and there was only a minimal amount of nonsensical psycho-babble. Mostly, it's pretty factual. The only part I wish the book offered more of is how to be certain you or your partner does have this disorder without benefit of a psychiatrist, since it does sound very much like a label psychiatrists are wont to throw on a disorder they barely understand.

Summary: One of the authors is a BPD- biased book
Review: The book is biased to make non BPDs feel guilty or excuse BPD behavior because one of the authors is a BPD (it is my opinion it is biased due to this fact). If you have dealt with a BPD before- you will understand why someone can find this tone manipulative. I got out of a BPD relationship- reading this book gives insights but skews things.

Summary: Good Book, Bad Relationship
Review: My girlfriend made me get this book. I learned a lot about her condition, and broke up with her soon afterwards. I do not recommend this book for somebody who is dealing with somebody else with this disorder voluntarily because you will leave them once you see how hopeless the rest of your life will be. These people belong in mental institutions and nowhere else. Save yourselves

Summary: Another Label
Review: This is another book labeling people who have certain personality characterics. According to this book most of the population could be BPD. I was misdiagnosed with BPD, my family bought this book, I went through torture and then we found out that I had a hormone imbalance because of peri menopuase. I recommend a wonderful book called Menopause and the Mind. I caution readers when reading this book not to quickly label their loved ones and condemn them. Get 2nd and 3rd opinions before you accept this diagnosis. I know the author has good intentions.

Summary: message for stewart green
Review: I don't know, stew, seems like the review "save your money and mind" was right about one thing--upset a BPD, and they get vindictive. How sad.

Summary: Message for ''Save your money and your life''
Review: It seems to me that the ''Reader from USA'' probably has Borderline Personality Disorder himself. He is expresing
reactions what Borderliners do, but obviously is still in denial.
As I uderstood, he had a BPD mother or father, no wonder if he finished with the same problem. The first step is to admit to yourself there is something wrong with you and than to try find out what. Good luck! I am BPD myself.

Summary: recognizing and coping with borderline personality disorder
Review: An outstanding book regarding recognizing borderline symptoms, understanding their etiology and coping with difficult borderline personalities in your life.

Summary: Undiagnosed disorder
Review: I haven't read the book yet but I am looking forward to it. I grew up with a father who was recently diagnosed with BPD. My father wasn't diagnosed until the age of 53. The disorder has gone on for so long undiagnosed that he has a long difficulty road ahead to recover from life altering problems it has caused. Just for informational purposes I am going to tell you what it's like being a child of a BPD parent. Growing up with someone that has BPD has been very hard. At the age of 32, I am still trying to fix my own sell esteem from being raised by a parent with BPD.Your self esteem is dimished so much by a BPD parent that sometimes it's hard to determine whether your the cause of the problem or the BPD loved one. A BPD person is so irrational and their thought process is so distorted that it's hard for a loved one to communicate your feelings to the BPD loved esp. If you don't know that this is a disorder. Often the BPD parent does'nt know they have a disorder or don't accept they have a disorder. I am glad to know there is information and help available for all parties involved in this disorder.
