Rating: Summary: Essential for anyone with two or more children Review: I count myself blessed that my two kids get along swimmingly for about 90% of the time, but my husband and I bought this book when our second child arrived, wanting to be prepared for the worst. Think of the book as a tool kit. Faber and Mazlish equip parents with the most effective tools around to help cope with and diffuse sibling rivalry and the havoc it can wreak on a family. The techniques described herein are useful, pragmatic, and based upon long experience. I can't recommend the book too highly.
Rating: Summary: This book is great even if you don't have kids of your own. Review: I don't have children, but this book has helped in talking to children in general and even in dealing with other adults. The psychology behind Faber's method, although designed for children, holds true for many adult situations as well. I've bought copies of this book and some of her other titles for friends with children, and *every* recipient has immediately bought copies for everyone she or he knows. In a way, this book helped reduce some of the fear of becoming a mother, in charge of shaping a new person's life and character.
Rating: Summary: What a great book! Review: I find that most parenting books just end up making a person feel guilty or like there is no way they can possibly do all the things the book suggests. In this book (although it certainly helps you to see how far you have to go!) I have found that putting the suggestions into practice is made so much easier. I still sometimes find myself saying something unrecommended, but I catch myself and step back. And then I start over again. Other people have even commented on things that I say to the children (that i got directly from this book!) and it makes me so proud! We are all trying to do the best we can with our children, and having two or more children can be so hard at times. How do you keep both children happy? When you have only one it seems a bit easier, and having two seems like such a good idea! Then when the second child comes along things are so different! I think large families are wonderful, but I also think this is the ideal manual. Every parent (and/or sibling) should read it!
Rating: Summary: Read it early, and keep reading it Review: I got this book before the birth of our second child. While I think it's probably more geared towards older children, I wanted to "prepare", and I'm glad I did. There were a few things I was able to use right away. It gives you some key points to keep in the back of your mind, and a lot of practical advice. This was a fantastic book. I know I will refer to it again and again and again as my two grow up together.
Rating: Summary: This is a great book Review: I have three children - the oldest are girls ages 8 and 6 and boy age 3. This book was wonderful. My two girls constantly battle and my boy is extrememly agressive towards everyone in the family. This book helped me learn not only how to work through these problems, but how to avoid them altogether.
Rating: Summary: Couldn't live without it! Review: I love this book! It is filled with practical advice complete with sketches of common arguements and how to respond. I re-read a chapter every six months as problems arise. You will refer to it again and again. I give it as a "second baby" shower gift and have received RAVE reviews!

Rating: Summary: I love this book Review: I love this book... My kids are now 5 & 3 and there is another on the way. I have read this book cover to cover & keep it handy for quick references when I feel I need a "refresher".What I like about this book is it is easy to read, easy to follow, easy to understand. My copy is dog earred, highlighted and has pencil marks in the margins. The advice is easy to follow and does not need lots of 'analysis' to get started. It covers basic topics, but once you 'get the gest of what to do' it's easy to apply the theories to just about every situation you may encounter as a parent.
Rating: Summary: Solid advice for anyone with 2 or more children. Review: I loved this book! Siblings Without Rivalry is full of unconventional advice like "children don't need to be treated equally, they need to be treated uniquely." My friends constantly comment on how well my 3 kids get along. I give this book a lot of the direct credit. It gave me a whole new perspective on dealing with multiple children.
Rating: Summary: The only book on the children you should read Review: I mean it. It really helped me do a better job with our three kids and also with my job. What's great are that it is really a few simple rules and some good exercises. A quick read and informative
