Summary: How to choose the sex of your baby
Review: This book is great. We loved it. It is very informative and found it a great help. After we had Nicholas, now 3 yrs old, we decided to try for another child, a girl. We read and carefully studied this book, and did everything it said, and now have a beautiful baby girl. We would recommend this book to anyone. We decided we would be happy with either, as long as the baby was healthy. We now have Nicholas, and our new baby daughter, Cailyn. We love them both-unconditional.

Summary: IT worked for us!
Review: I found out about this book after having two girls. I now have a very happy, healthy nine year old son. We tried the method ONCE and conceived our son 10 years ago. I have since told other people about the book and they have all used it successfully! Good Luck to all who use it! But remember the most important thing is a HEALTHY baby!

Summary: If you like History...
Review: The first 100 pages of this book deal with how good this method is and how wonderful Dr. Shettles is. That may be true, but not very useful. The key aspect of sex selection is the timing of intercourse around ovulation. This and all other aspects of fertility are explained in much clearer and greater detail in the wonderful book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. She provides LOTS of charts and examples and photos to help you track your cycle compared to just three sample charts in Dr. Shettles book. She also summarizes the techniques for sex selection in a separate chapter, and it makes a lot more sense after her detailed explanation of overall cycle tracking. If you're really focused on sex selection, you may gain some extra from Dr. Shettles book (like who should and shouldn't drink coffee), but it should be read in combination with Toni Weschler's book, which will answer any practical questions you have left.

Summary: How to Choose the Sex of Your Baby
Review: IT WORKED! We had 2 girls & tried one last time for a boy......I didn't want to take any chances. Thank Goodness I happened onto this book and followed the authors advice. WOW! I'd recommend it to ANYONE who wanted to increase the odds of choosing the sex of their child. Great Book!

Summary: Don't read too much into the other reviews....
Review: What the people who joyfully post about getting a baby of the right sex seem to forget is that they had a fifty-fifty chance of having a baby of that sex anyway! Dr. Shettles is practically guaranteed a steady stream of good reviews, based on those odds. :-) Unfortunately, according to my obstetrician at least, this book does not stand up to scientific scrutiny. If his method works for you, it's because you lucked out--not because Dr. Shettles passed along any magic secrets about conceiving a boy or a girl. If it were this easy to get a baby boy or a baby girl upon demand, then why would high-tech fertility clinics be making a killing trying to do these types of gender selections in a test tube?

Summary: we're tickled pink!
Review: three years after being blessed with a beautiful baby boy, we decided to "go for" a second baby. we were really ready and excited. i had always wanted a daughter and wanted to improve our chances of getting our girl. so i followed the shettles method, using ovulation predictor tests, and it worked! last july we welcomed our adorable baby girl. we're thrilled -- i reccommend this book highly!

Summary: It worked.. We wanted to try for a Son
Review: We had a beautiful baby girl so 4 1/2 years later and after 3 other people told me this book worked for them, 2 medical professional and a non professional, I got the book. Within 6 months I was pregnant with a boy. It was easy and I was able to get to know my body better. I never new when I ovulated before. Since then I passed the book to another friend who wanted a boy and yes she got the boy she wanted.. Best of all no matter what sex you get pregnant with, as long as the baby is loved and healthy. Enjoy.. Cheryl

Summary: It worked for us!
Review: I found this book very informative. We lost our son and daughter in a car accident in 1996. We now have two sons that we love dearly, and wanted to give it one more try for a (another) girl. We went into it with the understanding that it could easily be a boy, and that was fine with us. We tried the methods very carefully and also used the book,Taking Charge of Your Fertility, and with the total understanding of my body, we now have baby Emily who is 8 weeks old. Good luck to all, but make sure you go into it with the fact that it could go either way and girls are harder to get (timing wise).

Summary: I'm a Believer!
Review: My daughter's teacher told me that this book worked for her sister. I read it and practiced the method for choosing a boy. My husband and I are very happy to say we are expecting our son in 6 weeks! I have told many people about it. It really works!

Summary: It worked for us!
Review: My husband and I read this book very carefully and followed its suggestions, and now we are happily pregnant with a baby boy! The book is a bit too scientific and not a lot of fun to figure it all out. But it worked so it was worth all the work.
