Rating: Summary: It works! Review: My husband and I wanted boys, so we followed the methods described in the book and had our two boys, thus completing our family. We have been recommending the book to all of our friends who want to balance out or complete their families and each time any of our friends have used the methods described in the book, they have gotten the desired results. The methods work both ways!
Rating: Summary: unsuccessful sex selection attempt Review: My husband and I have two wonderful daughters and we decided we would like to have a third child. We would love and accept the child regardless of the sex. After reading How to Choose the Sex of your Baby and making a sex selection attempt trying for a boy, our son was born. I thought the book was well written and made a lot of sense. We had such a wonderful pregnancy/birth experience we decided to have another child, attempting another son, thus completing our family. We timed intercourse according to the instructions, even confirming the accuracy by using an ovulation predictor kit. I am absolutely certain the timing was accurate. We were disappointed to learn we are expecting another girl. This child will be as loved and cherished as the others and our family is complete but my advice is unless you are absolutely certain you will be satisfied with the sex of your baby, do not attempt ANY sex selection method. Basically I think mother nature cannot be manipulated.
Rating: Summary: How to choose the sex of your baby: Method Supported ... Review: My husband convinced me to have one more baby after already having two wonderful daughters. He really wanted to try for that boy. We decided to try to improve our odds of conceiving a boy. We purchased this book and read it in its entirety. Our ultrasound last week indicates that we were successful. We have a boy coming in June. My husband is overjoyed. I highly recommend this book for people who are looking to balance out their families.
Rating: Summary: Very Informative Review: I learned about this book *after* conception, so I can't say how good its theories are for "choosing" a sex. I did however find it very informative and educational about the conception process, with lots of information that I didn't know beforehand, & wished that I had known beforehand. I would recommend it even for those folks who don't want to try out its theories -- which seem reasonably based and well explained.
Rating: Summary: This book worked for me Review: My husband has two sons from a prior marriage. When we decided to have children of our own, we wanted the first child to be a girl. I purchased the book early this year, followed the instructions for having a girl, and became pregnant. I am now four months pregnant, and the results of my amniocentesis show that we are expecting a normal baby girl next year. At this point, all I know is that this book worked for me. As with anything in life, however, there are no 100% guarantees. Anyone using the methods described in the book to try to conceive a baby of certain sex must be ready to accept disappointment if the desired results are not obtained. Regardless, if you want to maximize your chances of having a boy or girl rather than simply leaving things up to fate, then this is the best way to go.
Rating: Summary: It worked! Review: This book is based on over 30 years of research. It all boils down to timing of ovulation in respect to intercourse. If you are serious about wanting a boy or a girl, this book is very informative. BUT...YOU NEED TO READ THE ENTIRE BOOK! Not just bits and pieces or one chapter. You need to understand how sperm work (life span, hardiness, difference between boy producing sperm and girl producing sperm) and how to figure out your ovulation pattern. You have to be dedicated and do the test cycles to find out the ovulation pattern for your body before you try to conceive. But please remember the success rate is 81% for a boy, 74% for a girl. We wanted two children one of each. We were blessed with a girl! And our next baby we tried for the boy. We have a 12 week baby boy!
Rating: Summary: Did Not Work For Me! Review: We followed the book to try for a boy, but a healthy baby was our goal. My husband and I followed the book exactly! We already had a daughter and wanted a son. I even told everyone when I was pregnant that it would be a boy (because the book gives a 80% success rate). We went to the ultrasound and found out it was a girl! Our second daughter was born 10 months ago, very healthy and very active! I don't think I would try the method again, except that you are aware of your fertility cycles which helps conception.
Rating: Summary: Disappointed Review: Our daughter was six and we were ready to finally have the boy my husband wanted so much. I found Dr. Shettle's method on the internet and was so excited. I thought for sure it would work. We followed the instructions to a T and ended up having a girl. So much for that. I wouldn't trade her for anything. But when you have your heart set on something and really believe it, it is a letdown when it doesn't happen.
Rating: Summary: It worked for us the first month of trying to conceive!! Review: After reading this book, we successfully conceived a son . He is now seven weeks old and is a wonderful addition to our family.
Rating: Summary: How to Choose the Sex of Your Baby Review: It worked for me! My husband and I have two healthy and happy boys, Jake and Cole. We wanted to increase our chances of having a girl so we looked to Amazon to find a book. Luckily we found Dr. Shettles and followed his method and had a baby girl, Caroline. Many of my friends have two children of the same sex and are quite amazed when I answer how I got my girl. I would highly recommend this book and are buying more for friends.
