Summary: Got a girl following the method
Review: Our first hope was to have a healthy child.Our second hope was to have one boy and one girl. Understanding that there are no guarantees and that the boy method is statistically more reliable than the girl method, we thought we'd try for a girl first in order to have two chances at getting a girl. We have now have a happy, healthy girl! What I don't think is emphasized much in the book is that if you're stressing yourselves too much about the process (or anything else), the stress may be preventing you from getting pregnant at all. We were both scheduled to have our fertility checked. My wife, who was concerned about her biological clock, finally relaxed a bit, and we had to cancel our appointments because we were pregnant. :-) We'll try the boy method next. Good luck to all.

Review: My husband and I have a beautiful 2 year old son. We thought it would be fun to try for a girl, so we tried the Shettles method and low and behold I am currently five months pregnant with a baby BOY. We tried everything the book suggested and it didn't work for us. Ultimately it comes down to this: GOD will choose the sex of your baby. Just be happy that you are being blessed with another child no matter what the sex...

Summary: Worked for us!!
Review: We tried the Shettles method and got pregnant the first try. We were trying for a girl and the sonogram just confirmed that's what we're having! For the reviewers who say it doesn't work - he DOES NOT GUARANTEE 100% RESULTS! That means, for whatever biological reasons, it won't work for some people. People's bodies vary to a great extent and that's why he can't make any promises. In my opinion, his research and reasoning seem logical and sound, not to mention he's been doing this since the 1960s. Try his method - either way you're getting a sweet baby, even if it isn't the sex you "think" you want!

Summary: Best of its kind
Review: Ok so if you need this kind of information, this is the book. There are others out there with contradictory info, but this one concurs with Toni Weschler's FAM program for conception, and I found her book to be exceptional. Read the entire book like they suggest.

Summary: A very informative and scientific book.
Review: I am a doctor, I have a girl already, I want to have a boy for my second child, I read Dr Shettles's book, it confirmed my knowledge about how to choose the sex of the baby, now I am pregnant with a baby boy ! I also reviewed my daughter's conception, Dr Shettles' method is so true, thank you very much Dr Shettles.

Summary: Trying Now!
Review: I have read this book several times and now am trying the girl method. My husband and I have 2 wonderful boys now so a girl would complete our family. I feel confident about the book's information because I have studied reproduction in college and the research is medically correct. I am on my 3rd month of trying now and am very excited to get pregnant but I'm not rushing so to follow the instructions carefully. I unknowingly used the boy method with my two boys I have now and I have friends that have used these methods successfully (boys and girls).

Summary: Not true for me!!
Review: I used all of his methods for conceiving a boy, positioning, timing, douching...you name it and Yup, you guessed it! My DAUGHTER is due this summer. I realize that there is always a failure rate but in hindsight I think it's silly to "try" to conceive a child of a specific gender. I just count my lucky stars that my child is healthy! So, don't waste your time and money with this book!

Review: ...If you really want to try to control the sex of your baby, there are more informative books out there. Not just for gender determination, but for all around knowledge of the feminine functions of your body, read The Billings Method. It covers everything from the early years to menopause. After becomming discouraged in an attempt to become pregnant, I went online looking for answers. I ordered and read The Billings Method. We became pregnant with my very next cycle. The Billings Method also covers the theory of determining the sex based on conception to ovulation timing. What I want to know is, if any of our theories, especially the chinese calander, are accurate, why do we still end up with so many girls being orphaned in China while their parents again try their luck at getting the one child they are allowed to have to be a boy?

Review: This book is a god send to me. I have 4 girls and am now pregnant with a boy! just from following the step by step easy to follow instructions -- no lie! I also have two other friends who have tried to conceive a boy according to the guidlines listed in the book and they all have sons now. I even have one friend that wanted two boys and two girls - girls first and then boys and she read this book cover to cover and her "order" was filled. She has two girls and two boys. This book is so amazing. I cannot say enough good things about this book.

Summary: This works!
Review: I'm 37 years old and actually studied the Shettles method in my high school health class. I remembered his teachings (and kept the textbook) and used them when I was planning my pregnancies, both times they worked, I got my girl who is now 15 and my boy who is now 12. I am now on my third pregnancy and again used his methods. I'm not sure if it worked yet but will let you know if you would like to email me in a couple of months. I highly recommend this book, but remember that his teachings only increase your chances to 85% so be sure you want another child no matter what sex it is.
