Summary: Not a Good Book
Review: .This book is not what you think.It was ridiculous.I read as much as i could possibly handle,because the contents of this book are alot of nonsense.I have 3 children and i have tried some of the things in this book.I even gave the book to a friend whom was trying to conceive.Well she tried what she could to have a girl.She has 2 boys.It is a waste of your money to buy this book.

Review: I was very excited to try this book out for our 2nd child. We followed everything exactly to the tee for a boy- which is said to be easier than a girl. Although I found this book to be very interesting and educational about the reproductive cycle it did NOT work for me. I am the type of person that follows the directions exactly so the only room for error is in the method itself. Think about it this way- if it was foolproof wouldn't more people and countries be doing it? Either way- you've got a 50/50 chance so it's right half of the time. Good luck either way- there's no harm in trying!

Summary: It works!
Review: Two of our neighbors and ourselves each had two boys. When we decided to try again, for a girl, we used almost all of the techniques in this book. The neighbors waited to see what came out, and when we had our daughter they each got a copy of the book. Both sets of neighbors decided it was too much trouble to go by the book - and each had a third son.Our little girl is now more than 25 years old, but we've recommended the book many times over the years. The advice is sound, makes sense, and isn't really difficult. In fact it can be fun, especially if you maintain a sense of whimsy and good humor. Since those are helpful characteristics for raising children too, they're good things to practice even while you're preparing to have that child. Good luck.

Summary: IT WORKED FOR ME! I GOT MY GIRL!
Review: People laughed at me when I told them that my next baby would be a girl. I read this book from cover to cover and followed the instructions. I was soooo elated to find out I had conceived a girl!! Since then I have even guessed the sex of two other babies of my friends by asking them some personal questions using information from the book. I believe that the book has a higher success rate than failure rate. So if you want to give it a shot, that alone makes it worth the try. However, the book tells you it's not 100%, so that in itself let's you know that not everyone will be successful. Also, the book is very informative and told me things about my female cycle that I had no idea about.

Review: In the interest of public service I thought I'd post our results: We were charting but not specifically trying to get pregnant, but we did anyway (a happy surprise). Since we last had intercourse a full 4 1/2 to 5 days before ovulation, we expected a girl, but it was a (beautiful, sweet, lively) boy. So there's no guarantee. We are perfectly happy with a boy (our first) but were surprised at how much our case didn't go along with the Shettles Method. I would *not* recommend this to anyone who is really determined to get a specific sex, since there is absolutely no guarantee. Having said that, we'll see what happens next time (which we will probably leave up to chance again) and report back.

Review: After having two boys we really wanted to have a daughter. We bought this book, highlighted and read only those things that pertained to having girls, and after three months of trying we got pregnant with our daughter. Along with the book we used the Chinese birth chart thinking that would help our chances. It all seems silly but it seemed to work for us. I passed my book along to a friend as my two sons are enjoying their time with their sister. I ALWAYS recommend this book when someone states a preference in the sex of their child. It is a must read!

Summary: We Did It
Review: My husband and I decided to have our 6th child and since we were already blessed with 5 beautiful girls we wanted to increase our odds of having a boy this time. We purchased this book and charted my cycle for four months. Everything was so easy and explained so well it was harder to remember to take my temperature than to keep track of it.I am happy to report that we are now 20 weeks pregnant and expecting our first boy!!!!!

Summary: Try the method it worked for us it might work for you
Review: After 2 boys, we really wanted a girl, so we read the book and followed the basic suggestions and we had a girl. It is not methods, but God who actually gave us a little girl. But if these things have worked for other people than it is worth a try. Even though we really wanted a girl, if we were given a boy we would have taken him too. We will probably try the method one more time for one more girl and if we are given a boy we will be thankful!

Summary: Just got pregnant!
Review: I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to INCREASE their chances of having the baby of their choice. For people who say it didn't work for them, the book states it is not 100%! But it increases your chances more than not doing anything at all! I have used this book to get pregnant with my 3rd baby using the girl method, and I found it to be not only true to the way conception happens but fun to do also! I am only 8 weeks pregnant right now so I don't know if it worked for me yet but I have friends and family that have used this method and it has worked for them (both boys & girls). Of course any baby is a blessing but why not try to improve the odds of getting the child of your dreams!!

Summary: I followed this book to the letter but it didn't work
Review: Sorry folks, it just doesn't work, we tried it all.
I have to agree with one of the other readers who rated this book and say that you cannot manipulate mother nature. If anything the book is worth it...for the fun it adds to trying. Definantly...as the the book recommends...if you are not going to ultimately be happy with either sex don't try any sex manipulation techniques. Although we were wishing for a girl we were blessed with our third son. We couldn't have been blessed with a happier or more beautiful baby.
