Summary: DID NOT WORK FOR US!
Review: After having had our daughter we bought this book to see if we could increase our chances of conceiving a boy the next time. I know my cycles quite well and we decided to do several 'practice' cycles before attempting to conceive. We therefore avoided the week before ovulation and I charted my cycles (temperature, cervical mucus etc). Unfortunately (?) we had intercourse too close to ovulation (about 5 days before) and, with hindsight, not following Shettles' recommendations for a boy (position etc). We therefore expected another girl. Guess what, we had a boy! Luckily we did not follow Dr Shettles recommendations!!!

Review: My wife and I had a 3-yr. old girl. We wanted a healthy baby, but preferred it be a boy so agreed we'd try for three months to get pregnant using these methods (some of them anyway - I'll explain). My wife became pregnant during the second month of trying and nine months later delivered a healthy baby boy! We didn't douche, but DID follow the caffeine, position, and timings suggested. Our view was we want another child, we'd prefer a boy, so why not. We agreed between us not to be obsessed with it, but make it fun - it was, and it worked!

Review: I've just started reading this book. we have 2 girls and would of course love a boy. So when its time to convince my husband of having another baby, i will be using this method. i have friends who have used this book and got the sex they were after, but whether it turns out a boy or girl, it will be loved and treasured 100%.

Review: We followed ALL the techniques to a T to conceive a boy (my ovulation cycle is like clockwork) and we're having another girl... which is GREAT--she's healthy, and that's all that really matters. But don't put too much time and energy into thinking you're going to choose the sex of your baby by following the Shettles method. It's about as sure as flipping a coin...

Review: I am very impressed by how well-written this book is. Not only is it informative, but it is written in a clear, easy-to-read style. I was expecting dry scientific data, but instead, found an engaging, interesting book. I haven't used the Shettles method yet, so I can't report on its success or failure (sex selection is never 100%), but I plan on using the method soon. Till then, I'll just enjoy reading about it.

Review: After having 2 girls, my husband really wanted a son. We both wanted at least one more child, boy or girl. But of course a son would be really nice. We figured why not try? I read it and we followed the guidelines...and we got our boy. Can't beat that!

Review: My friend and cousin "used" this book. My friend to have a boy and my cousin to have a girl. My friend had yet another girl and my cousin, you guessed it, had another boy. Also, comparing my charting to this book I should have 2 girls. Well, there are still no dresses hanging in the nursery closet. Don't waste your money. Just be happy with what you have.

We have a son to add to our beautiful family and have decided to try for another. We will find out in a few months. Highly recommed this book to anyone wanting to get pregnant or wanting a certain sex of a child. Great book

Review: I highly recommend this book to anyone trying for a specific sex. My husband and I have 2 children, a girl and a boy. We used this book eleven years ago in selecting our second child - PRECISELY! We started temperature monitoring 6 months before the target month and followed everything to the letter.
I passed this book to a neighbor, who passed it on to a friend, etc. All have been successful in selection (the several I know of). Good Luck!
