Rating: Summary: Strength Training Anatomy - a great book! Review: I was first given a copy of this book as a gift. At the time I was recovering from an injury and looking for "other" ways to work the injured area. Since that time I have had to replace it twice, as my daughter "borrowed" my first copy, as did my neighbor with the second copy. I liked the book enough to replace it [twice] and would do so again.
Rating: Summary: very useful !!! excellent Review: Lots of good info. However, it is an anatomy book so the information is limited to anatomy. This book shows you what the involved muscle does during a specific exercise. This book will not teach you how to work out, and has no info on diet or nutrition. If you are a beginner you may want to start with a different exercise book. If you already work out and you need to know which exercise hits which muscle and how, this is the book to get.
Rating: Summary: A must have for any serious lifter Review: Superb drawings. Accurate, in-depth review of muscles hit by common lifting movements. Essential book for developing your own lift routines. This book pointed out muscles I never knew I had, and further, showed me how to hit them with weights. If you push weight, whether you're just starting or have been at it for years, this is a MUST HAVE for your fitness library! Don't waste your money on the latest fad supplement, get this book instead.
Rating: Summary: Beautiful. Review: Strength Training Anatomy is exactly what it claims to be: the best anatomy reference as it relates to strength training. While this book doesn't offer information on strength training programs or offer any real secrets to getting big or toned or anything to that effect, it does offer beautiful anatomical illustrations of people performing typical exercises. If you enjoy learning about the human body and are passionate about strength training, this is a wonderful reference which will satisfy your knowledge of the basic anatomy of weight training. However, please realize that this book does not offer any form of advice or insight onto training programs, simply gives a good picture of what muscles are moving the weight. This is a very good layman's anatomy reference, so keep this in mind!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic book I never used.... Review: This book is highly recommended for those who wants to seriously know how exactly your work out is affecting each muscle groups. Easy to read, and a great reference book. This is not "how to do work out" book, but it is just a supplemental book to add to your work out book collection. I never really used it after I bought this book actually. I just keep on with a regular work out, and my body simply teaches me what muscle group is being worked on. Also, it is often your gym machine shows you exactly what muscle group is for. I realized that was all I neede to know. If you want to study a human muscle anatomy in simple way, buy this book. If you want to train, just sweat !
Rating: Summary: Major Disappointment Review: Great illustrations, but the book is full of innaccuracies, perpetuating many of the myths of strength training. For example,there is an exercise showing how to work the "inner pecs" - something which is anatomically impossible, since you cannot contract only part of a muscle fiber. Also, he writes how different hand rotations affect different heads of the triceps during various pushdowns - also anatomically impossible, since the triceps attaches to the ulna not to the radius and is thus unaffected by arm pronation/supination (rotation of the forearm). These are only two of many inaccuracies!! Nice drawings, not much else!

Rating: Summary: Excellent resource and reference for any fitness enthusiast Review: I am so glad to have this book in my library. This book doesn't really go into any detail on the proper form of exercises, but the anatomy diagrams are practically flawless. This book helped me identify the areas where I'm lacking and which exercises I should start to improve those areas to balance out my physique. I'm no fitness pro, but I would recommend this book to anyone who passionately wants to build a better body.
Rating: Summary: Yes! Review: The illustrations are phenomenal. This is defacto standard training manual that I use. PICTURES speak a thousand words. The only negative is that not every muscle is shown, but I know it's not a physiology book. RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!1
Rating: Summary: Very interesting book..and helpful workout aide! Review: The reason I say this is a helpful workout aide is because I had a serious problem incorporating intensity into my exercises. I just want into them as much as others were. After I got this book, I checked the exercises that I lacked lifting intensity in, and my problem was gone. By knowing what area I was primarily working, and focusing on them, imagining them in a red color (as in this book), I was able to finish a workout proud of myself, knowing I put as much intensity into it as I could. The art is stunning. Personally, I believe that it is a must-have book for anyone into weight trainers, but hey, all the other reviews say so too. Experience it yourself.
