Summary: The best pregnancy book I've read!
Review: I found this book to be informative and fun to read. i enjoyed reading what was going on with my baby, me and my body each week. it was exciting to read exactly what was happening when! i did not find this book alarmist in the least bit! it did cover possible pregnancy problems, but did so in a very informative way. I have bought this book for every friend and family member that is pregnant and they have all loved it! A must have for first time moms!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Contrasting opinion to other reviewers
Review: I disagree with other reviewers' conclusions that this book is particularly alarmist about pregnancy complications. I read several pregnancy books over the course of my pregnancy, and found that ALL of them share one characteristic - disproportionate coverage of what can go wrong during a pregnancy. This book shared this characteristic, but was not distinguished by it!

My husband and I loved reading this book, because it established a wonderful ritual for us. Every Sunday night we would read the relevant chapter aloud together. This would update both of us on the baby's and my weekly developments, and established a regular time when we could talk about the information and celebrate our experience. We really recommend this book!

Summary: Needs more information
Review: I agree with other reviewers that there is too little information on the progress of each week of development. There is also too much information on what can go wrong in proportion to what should be happening. Every expecting person or couple should have this very important information, but they should also have more information on what normal pregnancies have in store. I found it just a bit too general in that regard.

Summary: Exactly what the title implies
Review: I purchased this book because of all the information about my baby week by week. It became a ritual for me to sit down each week to read about my babies growth. This book also talks about many complications that can occur during pregnancy and birth. I was thankful for this information after I developed many complications during the birth of my daughter. One of which was a placental abruption which I had only heard of from this book. I knew what to expect at each doctors visit, including the tests that would be performed and why.

Summary: If you want to know everything that can go wrong.
Review: This is the first book I bought after I got pregnant because it was recommended to me. I must say that I was dissapointed with the book. It does tell you week by week what is going on with you and your growing baby but that is about half a page. Then that's followed by 4 or 5 pages of everything that can go wrong with your pregnancy. If women want to be informed about everything that can go wrong that should definitly get this book. I on the other hand don't want to know about everything that can go wrong, I want to know about everything that can go right so I can keep a positive mind through my pregnancy. All the information that I wanted in this book I get on the internet by going on the pregnancy web pages online. So if your'e one of these persons that are sure that all the bad things happen to you, don't read this book because it will fill your head with bad ideas.

Summary: Great Reading for First time moms!
Review: A friend bought this book for me, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is pregnant. It tells you what is happening with your baby and your body each week of pregnancy. I look forward to reading it every week, and it is hard not to read ahead! I plan on buying it for my friends, especially first time moms! (It is also great for dads!)

Summary: i read this book daily
Review: When I first found out I was pregnant, I baught a bunch of pregnancy books. I read this book every night before bed. Pregnancy week by week is the only book I found that talks about your babys growth, your growth, how you will be feeling and even talks about pre natal testing. I highly recomend this book to anyone who is expecting!

Summary: This Is A Must Have Book!
Review: This is an excellent book for pregnant women to have either for a first time pregnancy or tenth pregnancy. It is loaded with reference information. Of course this is just a reference book and any problems or questions need to be directed to your own doctor. I read about everything I could find during my 1st pregnancy and this was my favorite book.I found this book a great reference book for my 1st pregnancy.I loved being able to see how our child was developing week by week, like how big she was, when she could blink her eyes, when she developed finger nails. I compared other books to this one and nothing compared. Although I did purchuse other top selling pregnancy books. This was my top choice. I am now about three weeks pregnant again with our 2nd child. I loaned this book to another family member and I can't wait to get it back!

Summary: Just what I needed
Review: I read every page of this book! I loved it because it gave me new information about my growing baby each week.

Summary: your pregnancy week by week
Review: As a midwife, I was very disappointed in this book, mainly because of the negative, fear-based undertones throughout the entire text. "Week by week" a woman is educated about every tiny, rare complication or problem that could occur for her and her baby. I believe in education, but this is ridiculous.
