Summary: Fair and balanced guide to having a baby
Review: This pregnancy book doesn't assume that you will be taking your doctor's word for everything, or even that you'll be having a doctor. (It gives midwives equal play.) It provides you with the facts on midwives and doctors. It takes a balanced and fair approach to other pregnancy issues, birthing issues, and other issues that you will consider along the way, like whether to have your baby circumcized, what to do about pain relief during labor, if you want a doula at your baby's birth, etc. I felt very informed and prepared for whatever came my way after reading this book.

Summary: TMI!
Review: This book is VERY informative. Unfortunately, a great deal of the information deals with "high risk" pregnancies and also includes all the things that could possibly go wrong with your pregnancy. It's always good to be informed of such things, but the reader should be prepared to feel a bit saddened, overwhelmed, and terrified but these parts. Just because it's right there in black and white, it doesn't mean it's going to happen to you.

Summary: No Pictures!
Review: I have a preference for books with pictures. This books lacks in certain areas. Better to buy the Pregnancy Bible.

Summary: Great Book!
Review: I will be a first time mommy and this book definately answered all of my questions and then some!! The author talks to the reader in a down to earth manner, and is organized very well with tons of useful information. I would recommend this book to all pregnant mommies!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Informative, well researched, and fun to read
Review: There are more and more pregnancy books to choose from each time you head down the pregnancy book aisle. So how do you go about figuring out which book is right for you? For me, it all boiled down to this:

- Does this book answer most of my questions about pregnancy? (It's almost impossible to find a book that will answer all of them, so I looked for a book or books that would answer as many as possible.)

- Does the information in this book seem to be accurate? (If I spotted any glaring factual errors or if the book didn't seem to be particularly well researched, I didn't bother purchasing it.)

- Is this an author I can trust and who I enjoy reading? (If the author doesn't seem to know what he/she is talking about or was either boring or bossy, I moved on to another book.)

The Mother of All Pregnancy Books measured up well on all three fronts. It answered most of my questions about pregnancy, it contained factual/accurate information, and it is written by an author who is both well informed and who injects some humor. The book seems to be quite popular with other parents of my generation, so clearly other moms and dads appreciate the book's format and style.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Really helped me a lot
Review: I love the fact that this book is not organized either week by week or month by month. I own other pregnancy books that use that format and everything always falls into the wrong week and I can never find the information that I need. I also like the fact that this book sounds like it was written by a real human being, a woman who freaked out about things when she was pregnant, maybe was too emotional, etc. I really got a lot out of this book and hopefully you will too.
