Summary: Fun!
Review: Like most of the other reviewers, I, too, enjoy hearing Sheri's acerbic wit on the air each morning. I wasn't sure if her writing was going to be as good as her on-air persona, but it almost is. I just had my first baby last year, so I was pregnant at the same time as Sheri, and I was so excited to see that she has done a book on Mommydom.

You want to connect to this book, and I almost did. I kept wondering, "Am I a Misfit?" I fortunatly had a great childhood, but I'm still neurotic. I saw myself in so many of her stories. But I sometimes wondered if this was meant for me. Often, Sheri refers to the Misfit as one whose childhood was quite traumatic, leaving an adult ready for any tragic situation and preparing for the worst. I just was never sure if Sheri's Misfit has to have a terrible childhood.

Everything else is great. She has lots of funny little stories about morning sickness, etc., and some sweet stories as well. I especially liked her story about how your baby has been with you forever (you have to read the book to get the full story!).

I was expecting a bit more about the actual role of the mommy post-birth, and this book does deal more with pregnancy. Is there a sequal in the works?

And Sheri, no, a child's toilet does not belong in the restaurant! I have to side with Bob on that one.

Summary: Mommyhood isn't easy, but Sheri helps Moms feel the fun!
Review: Moms work hard at mommying, and Sheri's book is a must read for every woman ever called "Mom." The honesty and humor she uses to describe aspects of pregnancy, labor and new motherhood will appeal to hopeful moms, new moms and not-so-new moms. Sheri's book, a journal of sorts, won't stop anyone from becoming pregnant, but is a fun resource for those in the Hello, My name is Mommy state of life! Looking forward to Sheri's next book on Toddlerhood!?! PS: My fifth child is adopted. Pregnancy is hard work!

Summary: "What was I thinking?"
Review: My childhood was not quite like Sheri's (Her dad was a cocaine addict who kidnapped her and her grandma and held them at gunpoint while rambling on about his paranoid delusions-- the book opens up with a scene where they visit her father in prison and she watches some lady with a newborn baby giving one of the other prisoners [...]), but as she told her story, I felt the familiar wave of [...] over me. If you are pregnant and terrified that, "I'm going to screw this up just like MY parents did," read this book. Women from all kinds of backgrounds are succeeding at parenting, and so can you.

That being said, parts of this book were really funny. I laughed my head off.

Summary: Mommyhood isn't easy, but Sheri helps Moms feel the fun!
Review: Sheri carefully journaled her thoughts and feelings during pregnancy and new mommyhood. The honesty and humor in Hello, My Name is Mommy will delight any reader, but will truly speak to pregnant women, new moms, and not-so-new moms! After reading Sheri's book, don't say she didn't warn you about the nitty gritty involved in earning the title Mom. However, the message that becoming MOM is a life-altering experience in so many ways shines through the sleeplessness and leaky breasts Sheri writes about. A perfect read for anyone who has ever been called Mom, this from a mother of five little ones: 9, 8, 4, 2, & 1. I MADE time to read this book!

Summary: Brillant
Review: Sheri has done a fantastic job of telling the truths behind childbirth and being a mom. I couldn not put it down. Finally a funny book with real facts. My daughter is older and I'm not having anymore children but I think it keeps all ages of women and (men im sure too) interested and wanting to read on. A friend of mine read it and has no children or any in the future and she in loved it too! Thanks for writing such a wonderful book.

Summary: Sheri holds no punches
Review: This book is an honest look at motherhood. Sheri helps all new moms realize that not every problem that arises from having a baby is the mom's fault.

Review: This book just rambles on and on about the same thing for pages. How many different ways can you say the same thing>

Summary: Informative & Entertaining
Review: This book will give you a realistic idea of everything from conception, delivery and raising your child but in true wordsmith style from Sheri Lynch. I listen to her and Bob every morning on the radio in Greensboro NC and have learned a great deal more about her from reading this book. Her advice is some of the best I've heard....DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY & TRUST YOUR INSTINCT! I wouldn't consider myself a "misfit" however much of the same knowledge contained in the book applies to "regular" want-to-be mom's in the world! GREAT and FUNNY read!
