Rating: Summary: I laughed so hard I almost had an accident!!! Review: All I can say is: If you are suffering from a case of parenting frusteration, this book will remind you that you are not alone, and that you are NOT crazy!! I felt like I was reading about my own days and nights. My son is 15 months, and already, I could relate to just about everything the author talks about. You will laugh until your sides hurt. I looked forward to being able to read this book everyday, and was really bummed out when I got to the end....oh well, guess I'll just have to buy another book by Sandy Kahn Shelton!
Rating: Summary: Get this book for your favorite new parent! Review: As a new parent myself, I love Sleeping Through the Night. It's very, very funny--and surprisingly informative, too. The breastfeeding chapter alone is worth the cover price. I hope Sandi Kahn Shelton plans on writing many more books.
Rating: Summary: This book is seriously funny! Review: Funny, warm, sensitive, funny, honest, loving, funny, funny, funny. This book should come as part of the "New Parents" kit they send you home from the hospital with. In fact, they should make your husband read this to you while in labor instead of having him watch the contraction monitor and calling out everytime your having a "BIG ONE".
Rating: Summary: If you love Erma Bombeck and Vickie Iovine you'll love this Review: I actually checked this book out (along with all the others the library had on the subject) when my 2 year old twins were not sleeping well. While this book offered no practical tips, it reminded me of just how babies can change our lives. In fact it is the only one I read cover to cover, and I enjoyed EVERY minute of it. In the true spirit of every comedian, she takes the everyday baby-related things and makes us laugh. She reflects on everything from our pre-baby notions of "how it will be in our house" to the amazing things toddlers say in public. One of my favorite sections was on nursing and making sure the word/phrase you use is "public friendly". Oh, and of course, the section on sleep reminded me that one day I will look back on this "phase" with humor. I already buy Vickie Iovine's "Girlfriend's Guides" for my pregnant or newly blessed friends. I will certainly be adding this book to the package! I also highly recommend it for any parent who is trapped in any "phase" that babies/toddlers go through. For it will surely make you forget your worries, fears, and distress and make you laugh. (Just don't miss too much sleep by reading it all night!)
Rating: Summary: Light on info Review: I found this book to be entertaining to read, but thin on useful information.

Rating: Summary: Too funny Review: I have a six-month-old and this book has me in stitches. I keep re-reading it because the author has really captured that parenthood is a constant journey of the sublime to the ridiculous.

Rating: Summary: A hilarious send up to parenting an infant Review: I have twin boys. They just turned one. This book saved my life. My husband and I laughed out loud with every page. We are very exhausted all the time. The other day I thought I was just going to lose it in a drug store. When I got home I put the boys down for a nap and pulled out my book. I can only hope that Ms. Shelton continues to write these books for all age groups, at least until the boys leave for college. I have given a copy to every woman in my family and every one of my friends. Thank You.
Rating: Summary: funny and refreshing take on parenthood Review: I loved this book. Once I picked it up, I absolutely could not put it down, except when I was laughing too hard to see. It's so great to finally read someone who understands the real joys and hilarious horrors of being a mom. Shelton seems like a warm, sane and wonderfully funny person, and I can't wait to see her next installment. I've bought a copy for each of my new-parent friends.
