Summary: The ONLY book you'll need!!
Review: As a first time parent I bought *every* book out there that was labeled "interactive and "developmental" - I could've saved all my time and money had I just discovered "Wonderplay" first!

It is by far THE BEST book out there! It's ideas come from a Parenting Center in New York which is what sets this book apart from others - these authors know FIRST HAND that these ideas WORK!

The layout is great - starts with play with Children of All Ages, moves to Birth to Six Months, Six to Twelve Months, One-Year-Olds, Two-Year-Olds and lastly Three-Year-Olds. The ideas that they list are all age appropriate, quick, easy and inexpensive!

A MUST HAVE FOR FIRST TIME PARENTS!!

Summary: Practical and sensitive to the needs of parents and children
Review: As a single parent, I am always eager to hear of practical approaches to helping my two pre-school children. Living as I do in a rural area with little access to workshops and seminars, and with minimal opportunity to swap anecdotes with other parents, I am grateful for this wonderful collection of ideas and techniques for what to do with my kids. The authors obviously know their stuff, are tuned into kids, and are sensitive to the needs of parents. I wish they would write another book for helping with older kids also!

Summary: The best children's activity book I've ever seen.
Review: First of all, it starts with six-month-old babies with activities they can really do and benefit from. Second, it uses stuff that you really do have around the house, like pillows and blankets. I go mad with frustration when I have my 3-year-old all geared up for a great project and then realize that the seventh thing on the "You Need" list is a styrofoam vegetable tray that I don't have. This never happens with Wonderplay, because the activities are elegantly simply -- and inexpensive! And they really do foster creativity--my child's, not mine!

Summary: Great book
Review: I bought this book because it has been years since I sang a lullaby or been around babies. This book did exactly what I expected, which was refreshed my memory. It has nusery ryhmes and activities to stimulate your baby. So far everything I have tried has kept my baby entrigued and focused.

Summary: useless...
Review: I bought this book because there were several glowing reviews of its content. The suggestions in this book are not creative at all!! I am not creative by nature, but I had thought of most of the ideas listed here. There are sections by age, but each section is small and you could do all of the items in one weekend. The songs and rhymes were the only thing of value in the book. Thumbs down!

Summary: useful for a nanny
Review: I bought this book for my nanny to use with my 2 year old and 8 month old. She loves it and the kids love it too! Everyday I come home to a new craft or activity they have done.

Summary: Not very imaginative
Review: I bought this book hoping to find new, fun ideas for day to day activities for my one year old. I found nothing new or imaginative at all in the book. Most of the suggestions I already knew about. There were lyrics to songs, but no music -- not very helpful if you don't know the tune. I was so disappointed I returned the book. If you have half an imagination (and I probably have less than that), you already know everything in this book....

Summary: Excellent Resource for parents
Review: I found this to be a terrific resource for parents, full of fun activities and easy to use. It's a great gift for anyone who has a young child.

Summary: A great guide filled with delightful activities.
Review: I found Wonderplay to be a most helpful guide for new parents or anyone who plays with children. As a parent of three grown children I'm currently utilizing some of the craft suggestions with visiting children and find that their parents are often delighted with the respite.
