Summary: Easy recipes, but some outdated information
Review: This book has a variety of recipes that are straighforward and easy to prepare. They offer microwave cooking options in many of their recipes, which is great for pressed-for-time families. Their suggestions for selecting the best produce at the supermarket are very useful. However, some of the information regarding breastfeeding and weaning is outdated. In many instances the authors suggest that breastmilk is not necessary after the first year and that children should be weaned by that age. In reality, breastmilk provides immunities and essential nutrients that are extremely beneficial to children well past their first year of life.

Summary: Great Book!
Review: This book has made it very easy to cook for my son. The advice is great such as to keep feeding even if your child shows an initial dislike for a food. The information is presented very clearly and I felt completely comfortable following their time line on what to feed and when. Also, I was unsure as to how to puree and strain my sons first foods and this gives step by step instructions on how to do all those things.

I tried several other books before I found this one and none where as complete. I would recommend (and do) this to all new parents.

Summary: Mommy Made and Daddy Too: Home Cookig for a Healthy Baby &
Review: This book is now my standard baby gift to new parents. I used the original edition with all three of my children and 10 years later, I am still refering back to it. It gives guidlines on when to introduce new foods, what to watch for in terms of reactions, how to cook the food both stovetop and microwave, ways to store the baby food and make it easy to "travel with", saftey tips and recipes for the entire family to enjoy. The updated book just continues to improve on an already wonderful book.

Summary: Great book for making healthy baby food at home.
Review: This book points out that baby food made at home tastes better and smells better than food from a jar. Do the taste test and see. Also I like the idea that the transition to table food will be easier since it tastes more like the food baby has been eating for months. Great chart in the back to keep track of when to introduce food and baby's reaction to them. There are three catagories of foods: purees, spoon and finger foods for bigger babies, and table foods for toddlers and grown-ups, too. How can you go wrong!

Summary: Exactly what I was looking for!
Review: This book was exactly what I was looking for! I was interested in making my own baby food, but wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing. As a first time mom, I had no idea what foods to introduce first, second, etc. This book contains a chart that helped me devise my own plan for introducing solids to my baby. I also very much appreciated the special attention paid to food allergies and intolerances. I found this book to be extremely practical. I would highly recommend it to anyone who cares about how and what they feed thier child.

Summary: Fantastic
Review: This is a great book. Good recipies and great ideas. The book is organized well and gets straight to the point. I use it all the time and have made all my baby's food and it is EASY. I can't belive everyone doesn't do this... It's really that fast and easy!

Summary: Wonderful book!
Review: This is a great common sense book. Not only does it give some solid, applicable tips, but the food introduction chart is very handy and the recipes are delicious.

This is my #1 gift to new Moms and my own copy is "dog-eared" from being lent out.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Very informative & helpful
Review: This is a must-have for new moms! The best part is the chart that lists when to introduce each food. It is much more comprehensive than what the pediatrician gave me. I wish I would have read this before my son was 6 months old.

My only complaint about this book is the layout. It would be more user-friendly if the recipes were grouped by age of introduction (6 mo.,10 mo, etc) instead of by food type.

Summary: Excellent Resource for Home Baby Food Cooking
Review: This is a terrific book for people who want to cook for their babies instead of using commercial baby food. There's so much to learn, all of it easy, about preparing food at home, and this book has it all. It tells what nutrients each item has, how to best cook it to preserve said nutrients, and when to introduce them to baby, among lots of other valuable info. For instance, I didn't know you're supposed to plunge certain veggies in ice water after steaming to preserve color or flavor, etc. It also talks about choking hazards, and other little things of great importance to feeding your baby naturally. Excellent resource, its priceless to me.

Summary: A Great Book! Much better than "Super Baby Food"
Review: This is such a great book for baby food cooking. It is very well organized and easy to follow; providing clear instructions on the recipe and many useful facts about food. For example, the authors suggest to bake the sweet potato and squash because baking caramelizes their natural sugars. I can't wait to have my baby to taste this yummy flavor! It is a book written with "heart" and definitely worth to keep a copy. I am sure I'll refer to it all the time. As for Super Baby Food, I am totally lost in its poor organization and doubtful information, it will go to my book shelf collecting dust.
