Summary: Disappointment
Review: I have been on the Protein Power diet for about two months and am always on the lookout for good cookbooks. Because of the author, I thought this would be an excellent addition to my growing list of low carb high protein cookbooks. I have returned the book because the recipes do not provide you with the nutritional information that, as an active dieter, I require. If I had known about that, I never would have ordered the book in the first place. Fine for people who are not dieting.

Summary: Loved this Book
Review: I have lost 40 lbs. on the Heller's diet and my doctor says I am very healthy so I am a big believer. How great to now have a whole book of meals to go with it!

Summary: Easy to use and tasty dishes
Review: I just got this cookbook the other day. I have already tried several of the recipes, and they are wonderful! My husband and I are terribly addicted to carbs, and we are hoping that we can help break the cycle with this book.

I only have a few disappointments. Several of the recipes include cauliflower, which I dislike and therefore exclude. But all in all, it's so far, so good!

Summary: Simply Terrific!
Review: I love this book! It's simple and full of all the recipes I've been waiting for. I'm on the Hellers program and my husband is on Atkins. This book is great for both of us. I'm going to buy it for my sister, too. The quick fix recipes are especially good for us and I love discovering all the meals I never would have thought of on my own. So glad we bought it. I use it everyday now.

Summary: Dieter from NYC
Review: I think this book is great! It works for ANY diet, especially all the low carb and no carb diets that are out there today. The recipes are tasty and you don't have to spend hours cooking them. This is just the book I've been waiting for. Can't wait to try more recipes!

Summary: Same old, same old
Review: I was eagerly anticipating this latest publication by the Hellers. After reading through it I must say I am quite disappointed. The vast majority of the "recipes" are extremely simplistic and could have been thought up by almost anyone. I was really expecting some NEWER and innovative recipes. This book is a good starter for anyone who doesn't have any low carb cookbooks at all. If you are a newbie to the low carb way of life then this book is for you. If, on the other hand, you have been on any low carb program for any length of time, you are probably familiar with most of these types of recipes and I'm sorry to say that what's in this "new" cookbook is more of the same old, same old. The Hellers are great people and thier programs are fantastic, it's just too bad their recipes are not.

Summary: A Little Disappointing
Review: I was hoping this book would be better than it is. Buffalo Wings and Chicken Salad for breakfast? So many of these recipies call for terriyaki sauce, but I haven't been able to find a terriyaki sauce with less than 18 grams of carb per serving. A much better low carb cookbook is The Low-Carb Cookbook by Fran McCullough. Besides the wonderfully delicious recipes, Ms. McCullough also provides low carb pantry-stocking suggestions and even a little carb education. She also includes protien, fat and carbohydrate counts for each recipe --something I was shocked not to find in the Heller's book.

Summary: This book gave me my motivation back!
Review: I was starting to get tired of the same old low-carbohydrate recipes. My husband surprised me with this cookbook and promised to try the Hellers program. Now he's losing weight too (I've lost 65 pounds) and we're both enjoying our wonderful and delcious meals. Thanks to the Hellers we're doing so well. I'm even looking forward to going back to the doctor's for my bloodtest and weighing. I never thought I'd say that. The recipes are really good and delicious for anybody. I especially love the Quick fix recipes, too.

Summary: At last, the first quick, easy, yummy low-carb cookbook
Review: I've been on low-carb diets for a couple of years. My waistline has shrunk and my cholesterol count has gone down. The Hellers' program makes sense to me because they make sure you get your healthy carbs in your daily reward meal. This is the first truly good low-carb cookbook. The recipes are easy to follow and you don't need all sorts of weird ingredients; you can get this stuff at any supermarket. And the food is SO delicious -- wait till you try the recipes. These dishes really satisfy you.

Summary: I've Been Waiting For this Book
Review: I've bought all of the Heller's other books and have always wanted a cookbook to use to follow their advice. This book is clear and easy to use. Thanks Rachael and Richard!
