Rating: Summary: Fabulous Book!!!!!!! Review: I have a six month old son and I have just started reading this book. I am so excited about everything in it, that I've told everyone I know. I've fed my son, Tyler, sweet potatoes and avocados! I never thought he would like them, but he loves them. I can't wait to introduce him to all of the other wonderful foods discussed in this book. And I even found a local natural food market in my town that I never knew was even there before and the owner was a wonderful, resourceful man! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Ruth Yaron.
Rating: Summary: GET READY TO GET PARANOID Review: I love my baby and want to give her the best, but let's be realistic. Desiccated liver? Hydrolized vegetable protein? Way too much information, way too much paranoia, way too much guilt. I've been a vegetarian for over ten years and believe strongly in the benefits of healthy eating, especially for my beautiful daughter, but it doesn't need to be this complicated.I admire the thoroughness of this book and respect how much Ms. Yaron cares for her children. I just don't think most people will have the time or inclination to follow all her suggestions. Do yourself a favor and get a simpler book.
Rating: Summary: A must-have book for every parent Review: I definitely am grateful for this book to be written. I don't know how to cook but this book makes it SO EASY and I love how there are specific guidelines for each stage for feeding your baby. I thought it was just on feeding your baby, but it has much more interesting and very USEFUL information. I will definitely give this book as a gift to all my friends who are new moms. Your baby will thank-you for taking the time to make him/her healthy delicious baby food that costs less than the commercial baby jars at the supermarket. It's not hard at all to do. This book is like the bible on feeding my precious baby.
Rating: Summary: Even a nutrition dunce can learn feed their baby correctly ! Review: This book really will explain step by step everything your baby needs in words anyone can understand. Even if you decide not make your own baby food, this book is worth every penny! I knew NOTHING about nutrition other than there was a recommended food pyramid somewhere out there and according to it you were to eat a lot of grains! This book not only gives you an outline of what to feed your baby starting from her very first meal, but also which foods have certain vitamins in them. With this book, parents can make sure that a diversified grouping of vitamins is represented daily in each meal they give their baby. I even had a question about something I had read and I e-mailed the author and she very promtly responded to my question! Without this book I would have never had the confidence to make my own baby food, nor would I have known what to do with it other than serve it to my baby fresh. It took me three months to decide to make my own food, and now I am hooked! I just thought I was way too busy to do it, but it really is fast and easy. Ruth has everything down to a truely organized science. I am NOT an organized person and after I have followed her step by step directions and everything is labeled and bagged, I feel so good about myself! I KNOW what my baby is eating instead of guessing how much filler from commercial baby food is added--it really opens your eyes after you make your first batch of food.

I broughtmy daughter to the pediatrician for a checkup recently and he saidwhatever you are doing - keep doing it!!! My baby girl is definitely a SUPER BABY!! Not only does this book help you step by step to make easy, delicious baby food, it also includes information about nutrition and money saving tips - like making your own baby wipes! I can't tell you how much I would be missing if I hadn't purchased this book!!
Rating: Summary: A book like this is a rarity! Review: I just purchased SuperBabyFood a week ago, and haven't been able to put it down! Ruth Yaron has really done her homework, and does a wonderful job of explaining what your baby should be eating at each age, and why, along with how to easily prepare the foods yourself. This information is invaluable in an age where most people just mindlessly feed their babies whatever is on the grocery store shelf. My baby is already a year old, so I feel like we have a little revising and catching up to do on the food scene. But with the information in this book, I've already been able to make improvements in just one week. How rewarding it is to know that after breastfeeding. you can continue to give your baby the healthiest foundation possible. Thanks, Ruth!
Rating: Summary: The key to raising a healthy child Review: As a physician and parent, I try to provide my daughter with a healthy diet as well as a diet that gives her the best chance at continued good health. Ruth Yaron's book is my bible! She really knows her stuff-- sound nutritional advice, great tips on fast and easy ways to provide a healthy diet, and a common sense approach to parenting. Even though I work full-time, I am able to follow most of the recommendations in her book without a huge expenditure of time. It really is an impressive book. It has been my "new baby gift of choice" for the past year!
Rating: Summary: Educating for first time feedings. Review: I thought this book was very educating for first time feedings and subsequent feedings thereafter. However, some of her recommendations are NOT approved by my pediatrician or friend's pediatricians. Use a reference but not a bible. Only has recipes for OLDER babies. (9+months.)
Rating: Summary: An absolute must have guide on infant and toddler nutrition. Review: I found this book to be superbly detailed on when, what, and how to feed your infant. The text is informative and easy to follow. My questions regarding food allergies and what to feed my baby were covered explicitly. I never entertained the idea of preparing baby food (organic) myself until I read Yaron's book. I was most impressed by the "super porridge" that included homemade cereal with added features such as brewers yeast, crushed seeds, nuts etc., I want the greatest nutrition for my baby. The Super Baby Food book is the best recipe for your baby ever.
Rating: Summary: steam will come out of your ears! Review: This book has every piece of information you could think of, in relation to food and aspects of child-rearing. Some of it is useful and interesting, alot of it just made me paranoid!
