Review: If you have read the previous works of Ms. Hammond, have a true relationship with God, know something about yourself and what you desire in a godly mate, then this book will assist you in clarifying what you need. It will also bring clarity to your role in the relationship whether you're male or female. With discernment you are able to identify which information applies to you, even if you are without your mate. This is an excellent book for single males, females and a definite must for godly couples. God has a purpose for the marriage relationship. Here Ms. Hammond helps us to begin to grasp His concept.

Summary: Simply the Best!!!
Review: Michelle McKinney Hammond has done it again. For any man or woman without the understanding of EXACTLY what God expects, this book is a definite winner. A lot of women don't understand the gift that God intended them to be for man, this book explains it. A lot of men don't want to acknowledge God's plan for man, this book explains it in plain English, a man would have no choice but to see and understand God's plan by reading this book.
Keep informing people who have no understanding of God's plan for his people.

Review: Michelle McKinney Hammond is totally awesome. This book helped me tremendously. I started reading the book and could not put it down. I picked up the phone and called all my fellow readers (male and female) and told them that they must find time to read this book. I'm an avid McKinney Hammond book reader and some of her books were starting to repeat themselves. This one was very refreshing, enlightning and at times deep. I wholly recommend this book to both males and females.

Summary: For both halves of every couple...
Review: Our society is starving for sound instruction about the unique, God-ordained roles of men and women. Michelle McKinney Hammond cuts throught the political correctness that confuses so many people these days, and delivers some straightforward advice, yet manages to do it without getting overbearing or losing her sense of humor. I found every chapter helpful, and in some places, I felt like the book was written especially for me. I loaned it to my girlfriend, and she found it helpful too, so it's got recommendation from both sides of the gender gap, and that's saying something! This book has helped me solve the eternal mystery of what women really want and need; and challenged me to work on my character, in order to be the kind of man fitting for a Proverbs 31 woman. It also challenges women to keep their standards high, and, no doubt, helps them understand the mysterious man a little better. The main shortcoming of this book is that it doesn't get very deep (maybe because MMH wrote for such a wide audience) The book contains lots of lessons, but not many details. Hammond combs familiar Bible stories to demonstrate her points, but it would have helped to read some fresh examples from our own day and age. On the other hand, the reader should come up with some real-life applications by contemplating the "reflection and discussion" questions at the end of each chapter. All in all, it is a helpful read that should do some good for both halves of every couple, provided they're open to doing relationships God's way.

Summary: Great Reading for Men and Women!
Review: So much has been shared about the Proverbs 31 woman. This "superwoman" has intimidated many women through the years. Often readers forget the Proverbs 31 woman had a very supportive husband. In verse 28 it says, "Her children respect and bless her; her husband joins in with words of praise (The Message; emphasis mine)." In her latest book, In Search of the Proverbs 31 Man, Michelle McKinney Hammond goes through a list of characteristics a Proverbs 31 man should possess. Unlike some of her other relationship books, this one was not written with just one particular group in mind. Men and women whether married or single will benefit from the principles addressed. Some principles seem unattainable, but Michelle emphasizes God strengthens people through the Holy Spirit to fulfill their current or future roles as Proverbs 31 mates. Thought-provoking reflections and further study ideas are provided at the end of each chapter for each gender and couples. This was a well laid out and thoughtful book. The book is definitely not just for men or single women in search of a mate. For those who have been married for a while the principles presented will serve as a reminder "nothing is impossible" with God.

Review: This is a quote from a review I read: According to Hammond, if the relationship doesn't work, there could be ugly repercussions on Sunday morning--every Sunday morning week after week. After all, you still have to see the person in church, and it's hard to hide in a pew. Is this what the reviewer learned from the book? If a person's social and relational skills are on a level that leads him/her to "hide" from a person who was not a good relational match, the mature behavior is to accept it and then maintain a healthy social relationship. But if the advice is that one must avoid the other party, then the immaturity of the advice demonstrates a lack of understanding of relationship building. Yes, a man and woman should have a matching level of spirituality before trying to establish a permanent relationship. And, one of the worst problems a Proverbs 31 woman has is finding a man who is her spiritual equal.
Church is an excellent place to find a person who matches spiritual, doctrinal, and social values. "Picking up" someone is not a mature approach. However, any environment has its pros and cons for meeting people.
