Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A Useful Classic Review: My uncle handed me this book and said, "Take a look at this. If it fits you won't be able to put it down. If it doesn't, it won't make much sense. It changed my life." I looked at it, and it helped me survive my 40's. I came out of my personal mid-life crisis better than I was when I went in. Now, I offer the book to you. Take a look. If it fits, you will be glad you found it. If it doesn't, it won't make much sense. You've got nothing to lose and a lot to gain.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Extremely helpful! Review: Reading this book was like reading a blueprint of my husband's trek through the 40s. Unfortunately I read the book AFTER the fact... after the affairs, after the conflict, etc. Now that we are rebuilding our marriage this book has given me the perspective I need to work at understanding the WHY of what happened. If I could, I would buy it for every wife on her husband's 40th birthday.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: From a man in a midlife crisis... Review: This book clearly described in great detail MY LIFE! It's amazing that others my age have experienced a pretty much predictable series of events, as Conway describes, and to which I can attest to. It makes the midlife crisis and all of the "issues" with it a lot more understandable (though some behavioral aspects are inexcusable). A great read for any man 35 - 50, or interested wives.
Rating: ![2 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-2-0.gif) Summary: Not for everyone Review: This book is really only for a man who is married with 2.3 kids a good job and goes to Christian that goes to church every Sunday. It is not for someone who is single, not Christian and has no kids. In one of the last chapters is says the best help comes from your employer, your wife, your kids, your church and your friends. What if you are self-employed who is going to help? What if you have no wife? No kids? No church? No friends to confide in? I find it hard to believe that the author has a Ph.D. and is President of a mid-life crisis centre and still has such a narrow view on society and on how people live today. Don't get me wrong this book is not all that bad, it did help to see that there are other men going through the same thing as me. Just be forewarned that one of the PhD's mentioned above is in theology and that the author is a pastor even though he says this book is for Christians and unbelievers that there is a bible passage at the end of every chapter. ....Hmmm what if your Jewish, does that make you a unbeliever?
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: saved my sanity - I'm normal! Review: This book saved my sanity. It discribed me to me. Jim helped me to understand the what and why - the pain. I thought I was special, different the only one going through this kind of thing. I actually received my copy of this book from my first shrink - but I didn't understand what it was telling me. I was at the start of my ordeal. Now I am finally coming out of the fog and I hope I'm at the end of this journey - or at least that's the way it looks from the book. I have read and re-read this book like a map. I have passed on copies and wisdom to friends and family.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Men in Midlife Crisis Review: This book saved my sanity. It discribed my husband to the "T". I keep it by my bedside and read it often. It gives my hope and a positive outlook on this horrible event in my husband's life. I have read numerous books on this subject, and this is one of the best and most uplifting!!!

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Insightful, informative and well written Review: What a lifeline! A book that gives wonderful insight and direction for understanding and dealing with this painful reality. Also discusses women's midlife stress, and gives you options to dig in and have a truly healthy marriage. In addition, the Christian perspective makes the book even richer, and not by simply applying the band-aid, "God can fix anything." If you might be interested in a closer relationship with God, your husband, and even yourself, consider this book.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Men in Midlife crisis Review: Wonderful book. Described my husbands struggle as though it was written by him. Has calmed me by helping me to understand that it is not personal that it is not about me. That this is a male right of passage and it has to run its course. Very practical information that is simply written -- you don't need to be a PHD to understand it. I have friends that I would like to lend the book but can't imagine not having it to read over and over and over again. Companion books "Surviving your husbands midlife crisis written by Jim and his Wife Sarah are also equally wonderful.
