Summary: Crazy with a capital K
Review: I am so glad I didn't spend a nickel on ths book I borrowed it from a friend. It is bar none the most poorly written chaotic mish mash I have ever read. I can't believe an editor allowed this book to go to print.

I thought I would learn more about the world of mental illness from author who had first hand experience instead I felt like I was reading a list of random words.

I think the poor Ms. Heche is indeed insane and is not getting proper treatement. She is bitter and blames everyone else for her multitude of problems.

Don't waste your money!

Summary: Call Me Crazy for Reading This Book
Review: Is Anne Heche crazy? It's hard to tell from this book. One thing that I can be sure of is she can not write a good autobiography. This "book" is full of anectdotes that, if elaborated upon, could have proven to be interesting fodder for an autobiography, but Heche glosses over every possible interesting aspect of her life. Either she doesn't remember enough of her past to provide adequate details, or she chooses not to. I'm wondering if she did not stay up the night before and write it all in time to meet a deadline. The writing is poor and scattered - it probably would not have made any less sense if she wrote it in the language that Celestia learned from God.

Summary: Sad Story Badly Told
Review: This book and an earlier work by Susan(Heche) Bergman are poorly researched and badly written. I viewed them as a complete waste of time. Annes early years were pretty tough and I admire her recovery. However, she comes off as a dull light weight throughout. I do admire her acting particularly in Wag the Dog which was even more convincing in view of her fondesss for Bill Clinton. I am surprised the two never got together. Oh well maybe they did and we can read about it in ''Call Me Crazy II" Let's hope not.

Summary: Compelling!
Review: Anne's book is everything the editorial review promises and more. Couldn't put it down. Her concise writing style is witty and humorous, and the book's main points are devastatingly clear. I applaud her efforts in this empowering work of honesty, and I look forward to reading any future books from this amazing, creative woman!

Summary: Don't bother
Review: I've been an Anne Heche fan since she was on the soap Another World in the early 80's. I've followed her career, and enjoyed
watching her evolve as an actress. She is one of my all time favourite actresses, she's incredibly talented and I am a huge huge HUGE fan. My husband bought me this book, because I am such a fan, and I dove into it and read it in a day.

I wish I had that day back. I feel for this lady. From the sounds of things, she's had a tough go of it but I didn't feel one ounce of empathy towards her, and it's not because I don't think her story is true. This story is cold, boring and has no real direction. It's a collection of memories that just don't ring true.

The abuse may be real, but this book reads like a cold fish. Does that make sense? Neither does this book.

Summary: IF ANYTHING, "CALL ME BRAVE & A SURVIVOR"
Review: I was completely taken aback by this autobiography. In a very easy-to-read format, Anne Heche tells her story of life. What messed up things that have happened to her over the course of her short years has been tremendous. The way she dealt with them and the current level of understanding she now possesses is amazing.

Her mind is not that of a complacent, Type B personality individual. Because she thinks outside of the preverbial box, many think her to be crazy or of a different mind when in all actuality this is not the case. (Many persons, if you take a look into history, who had great minds were thought to be "crazy" as well.) The things that were done to her- on so many levels- throughout her childhood and then into young adulthood, and which had a direct negative impact on her future endeavors, are completely horrific. Such experiences cannot be contrived. You "feel"- if it's possible for a person to break out of the box which they grew up in - for her and on some level have an understanding of where she comes from and what she has gone through to get where she is today- plain and simple.. to live. If she were not a strong individual, she would be where many other people are; especially Hollywood stars... DECEASED.

Ms. Heche decided to take her life into her own hands and seek out assistance so as to not be a victim. CONGRATULATIONS!! The world would be so much better off if individuals would take a look within themselves to try and solve problems before placing blame on all the outside "factors" of life or popping a pill in hopes of achieving nirvana . For as Anne Heche disovered, over the course of numerous difficult years of therapy and struggle, happiness and understanding can be achieved.

In conclusion, a "thank you" goes to Anne Heche for making me privy to her life. Her openess has helped me with mine. So, again, thank you.

Summary: Call Me Crazy
Review: Good book a little crazy for me!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Call Me Crazy - Very Insightful and Realistic
Review: Call Me Crazy is a very inspiring book for all adults who have experienced childhood sexual, physical and emotional abuse. As a survivor myself, I identified with most of the emotions and feelings that Anne experienced. Anne Heche's account allows you to experience the walk through the "Valley of the Shadow of Death" that only a true survivor could document so eloquently. I would recommend this book to anyone who has experienced or witnessed this type of pain. This book gives hope and insight to all survivors of childhood abuse and proves that there is a successful path for children to overcome the horrors of this very, unnecessary experience.

Summary: Sad!
Review: This is a self-serving whine about tragedies that beset one family and offers no sympathy for parents, siblings, or the circumstances which brought them to despair. Unlike her older sister's book ("Anonymity" by Susan Heche Berman), a painful, poetic, and empathetic re-examination of life lived and distorted by the phenomena of masked homesexuality, untimely death, and the struggle of survivors to overcome, Heche's diabribe brims with venom. It's vile language and unsubstantiated accusations reveal a fatally flawed human being who has achieved fame and fortune, but not inner peace. This is not a book for teens who idolize Hollywood stars; marked by vulgarity and disrepect for the dead and living, it is a sad commentary on Miss Heche and the world she inhabits.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: An incredible journey
Review: It took guts for Anne Heche to tell her story and I admire her courage and honesty in exploring her incredibly abused childhood and finally coming to terms with it. If readers were disappointed that she didn't dish the dirt on celebs, that wasn't her purpose. Writing about the sorrow in your life is often part of the healing process. I wish her happiness in her new life on "the other side."
