Summary: True or not.....it's great!
Review: I've read many differing reviews regarding the validity of this book and quite honestly, I don't care if it is true or not. I rarely have the time to sit and read a good book but this one caught my interest and once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. If it is true, then hooray for Dr. West and his family and the incredible struggle they are working through (Rikki, you're my hero!). If it's not true, then congratulations to Dr. West for putting together an incredible story. Either way, it's great reading and very inspiring. Get it. Read it. I guarantee you'll like it.

Summary: An amazing glimpse into the the brilliant mind of a survivor
Review: I could not put this book down! This book reads just like a novel! It is gripping at times, hilarious at times, moving most of the time, and just incredible and at times unbelieveable! It is amazing to learn the process involved when a person sustains severe, repeated abuse that the brain somehow manages to keep SANE by "taking you to another place" if you will in order to get through the episode of abuse and then to suppress those memories in order for you to live a normal life after this devastating abuse! I was truly amazed by this story! Very touched! Before I read it and before I saw Cam on Oprah, I had not idea how sane DID really is, that is is a disorder created by the brain to KEEP sane! Unvelieveable! I recommend this book very highly. It has taught me much. Enjoy! Jamie Smith, RN

Summary: ABSOLUTLY INCREDIBLE
Review: I read this book in one day and I was facinated. First let me say that I think Cameron West is a wonderful writer and I look forward, with great anticipation,to additional books. I loved the graphic descriptions of his life and the world around him. It made his journey so much more real and believable to me.

To be able to live through and survive the ordeal that these two people, and undoubtly Kyle now too, did and come out with any semblance of sanity is a remarkable fete. I admire their courage, their love for each other and their pure will to live. Dr. West is a marvel and certainly a unique individual to be able to survive with all "his guys", whom I actually came to like.

My real hero in this book is Rikki-her neverending understanding, protection and love for Kyle and Cameron and actually the alters-she is the one who saves sanity and lives.

I highly recommend this book. It is a facinating account of a family's struggle with an unknown and frightening circumstance and how their love, support and pure persistance made them winners.

Summary: Fantastic
Review: I found this book to be one of the best that I have read about DID. First Person Plural was so real and well written that I found it to be an easy read. Thank you Cameron for sharing with us your life and also a thank you to Rikki for allowing Cameron to give us all more insight on what DID is like first hand.

Summary: One of the most facinating books I have ever read.
Review: This is by far one of the most facinating books I have ever read. Mr. Cameron puts his experience as a multiple in story form which makes it very easy to read. His initmate account of the different multiples and their purposes in his life is spellbinding. I was inspired by the love and courage shared by Mr. Cameron and his wife as they fought to understand his Dissociative Identity Disorder.

Summary: A Fantastic Read!
Review: My wife recommended this book to me, a non-reader but once I picked the book up I couldn't put it down! I highly recommend it!

Review: Cam West, Thankyou for writing this book

Summary: WOW!
Review: Talk about insight! Cam West has given everyone who reads this book the opportunity to understand a little of whats going on inside the head of someone with DID. For me, where there used to be fear (of the unknown)is now knowledge. I feel like I could walk right up to Cam West and have a familiar conversation with him or any one of his core group. This book leaves me with alot of questions though. As the saying goes,"The more you know, the more you realise you don't know." Hope to see a sequel soon!

Summary: An amazing journey into a dissociative mind
Review: I couldn't put this book down. Cameron West allows you to walk in his shoes in his struggles with DID. Descriptions of the sexual abuse he suffered as a child are painful to read, but necessary for understanding how West's alternate personalities were born from a child's instinct for survival and protection. I felt great empathy for him and "his guys." What struck me most was the power of family; first by its destructive force and later by its salvation. I'm hoping Dr. West will provide an update within a few years. His story is far from over.

Summary: Who is so materialistic, Cam or an alter?
Review: Fascinating story! However, it was too descriptive of clothes (brand names even), cars. household items, etc. Do we need to know that Rikki was wearing jumper, tights, turtleneck and matching socks? I skipped over many paragraphs to get to the heart of the book.
