Summary: Some parts boring
Review: This book did show that even though someone can have a bad upbringing you can still overcome it. Most of the book I enjoyed, but a few parts were boring for me.

Summary: Finding Ourselves
Review: This book should be required reading for all teens and for anyone who believes he/she can not overcome life's obstacles. Antwone Fisher's story of life in foster care does not make us feel sorry for him, but rather, we cheer him on and wish we had the courage to endure just as he did. What fine writing. What outstanding reading.

Summary: Very well done
Review: This is a very well written book, with much emotion behind the story. The trauma and turbulation that this author went through is astounding.I haven't see the movie yet, but will do that very soon. thank you Mr. Fisher

Also recommended: Nightmares Echo,Beauty For Ashes and Running With Scissors...all the above books are 5 star+

Summary: A Reading Pleasure
Review: This is now officially my favorite book that I have read. I liked so much about this story. I liked how descriptive some parts of the story are. Like the parts were he is describing his foster family and some of the parts when he gets abused by Mizz Pickett, those parts were very well written.
I first heard of the story after watching the movie and the two are barely different compared to other books that get turned into movies.
I really enjoyed reading this book and I recommend that you read this book as well.

Summary: It Is Like Reading Reality
Review: This is truly one of the best books that I have ever read. I enjoyed how the author wrote this book and his use of imagry and description. He does a great job of writing about reality while others are writing about nonsense. I love how he added in the little things like his poetry and how he used great description when talking about how he was abused. This is truly a great book and I recommend that you read this book.

Summary: Finding Fish
Review: This was a great book! I rushed home every day to try to finish it for my book club. It kept me on the edge of my seat. I was always reading to find out what would happen to Awtwone next. I wanted all of his pain and suffering to be over. I knew that he was going to become something great from seeing the previews of the movie, but the book goes into greater detail of his struggle to achieve success. You also get a real sense of who Antwone is on a more personal level and marvel a him as a man.

Summary: Cblake
Review: This was a very good book. I had heard so much about this Antwone Quenton Fisher person so I stopped by the library and picked up Finding Fish. After reading the book in no time at all, I had to see the movie and I had to add one of each to my collection. People just don't understand that what Mr. Fisher wrote in his book is really true, this is a very cruel world.

Summary: Excellent
Review: Though a fan of Denzel I had little interest in seeing the film. Then one day in a bookstore in Manhattan I saw the book. Glancing over the back summary I had the idea that it should be an interesting read.

I've still yet to see the film of this great novel, but I can tell you that the book itself is excellent. Fisher is a great writer and has the ability to bring the reader inside of his world, reminding me of James Baldwin's classic "Go Tell it on the Mountain". It's an excellent story which I was able to relate to on various levels. All of the characters come across vividly with Fisher's lucid writing speech.
