Rating: Summary: Getting Your Life Together Review: I thought this book was very good. I liked this book because it told how a young man ran from a life of abuse to a life where he got to go almost anywhere. Another book that has to deal with abuse is Dawe Pelzer's first book in the series called A Child Called "It".
Rating: Summary: 2 VERY VERY LIFE CHANGING BOOKS Review: I have recently read both books "A child called it" and the book "the lost boy" both by a very touching author David Pelzer. Iam ony 13, and like most 13 year olds I thought that I had a bad life and that my parents were the worst. Untill I read these books and it made me relise how good I really had it. A friend of mine brought the first book to school and I read it all that school day. The next day i gave it to another freind of mine to read. After they read it they gave it to somone to read and so on. Now almost everyone in my class has read that book. I am the first person yet to read this book "the lost boy" in my class and I am very anxious to give it to the rest of the class. I recommend everyone to read these books. It really will change your life. I would also like to know how to get in touch with the author. I would like to write him.
Rating: Summary: now that you've read it, go do something about it! Review: This was a great book to capture the attention of the ignorant people out there who might think that child abuse isn't their problem. It certainly wasn't meant for entertainment, but for education. So, now that we all know that abuse is real and it still exists today, let's do something about it. A lot of people say they feel bad and are very thankful that their life wasn't like that, or that they are so happy that Dave is now safe. Well, DUHHH! We all feel that way. But if you say those words and your actions don't support them, then they are empty. If you truly care about abused children, go and save them right now. Don't wait for them to grow up and write a book about it so you can feel bad for them. Go help them. I believe in the phrase, "actions speak louder then words," and I think that if the author would want anything from you it would not be your pity, but your involvement in helping those that are suffering the same way he did. The kids ARE out there, and they need OUR help.
Rating: Summary: This was a great book Review: This was an amazing book on a child that goes through life as an orphan. All the home and the people that he meets are described in great detail. All the tough times that he had are overwhelming, and makes you think that you are in his shoes going through all of this.
Rating: Summary: A Very Touching Book Review: I felt if I actually cried when I read these two books. I'm now reading A Man Named Dave, these books a very sad. The first book almost made me throw up. I recommend this book to anyone who has a heart to take care of foster children.
Rating: Summary: Another great book from Dave Review: I have purchased all three of his books and as a mother of 3 I found myself not understanding the horrible things done to this young man...I must say that it has helped me deal with my past of childhood abuse also...God Bless Dave!
Rating: Summary: I was speechless after reading all of the Books.... Review: I thought The books were great and me probably being one of the youngest people to read it (im 13)Really got me thinking on how greatful I really am,and how a person could do that and especially to a kid who couldn't fight back? Gosh Dave you have more guts then I probably will ever have. You really inspired me and if you would e-mail me I would love to talk to you about it my e-mail adress is Kait_698@hotmail.com thank you soo much!

In telling your story you put the reader right there with you...Again this story ,needs to be read by all! Untill we accept that it exsist..not only in this one story but with the thousands of children in our society ,can we begin to make a change...I'am about to read the last of the story in your new book A Man Named Dave.. however I will continue to pray for you,for I know the story never truely ends for you.May God Bless you!
Rating: Summary: Admired your strength-- Used this book as a presentation Review: Dave thank you so much for sharing your amazing words with us. I had the opportunity to share your book with my fellow students at my community college as a presentation. This book was such a shock to me. It made me appreciate all that I have and made me realize that there is always someone somewhere that always has it worse than you do. Thanks again. I would love to ask you a few questions on your book if you would like to e mail me. Thanks! Pooshkinie@yahoo.com
Rating: Summary: Even more touching than "A child called it" Review: I can honestly say that Dave Pelzer is by far the most beautiful man I have ever read about.I would never understand the meaning of his words unless I was in the situation myself, but David put me there.I felt compassion and anger and sorrow for David that I have never felt for anyone who I have ever met.The book made me cry from cover to cover. In reading this second part to David's trilogy I have now become a better person.David you are in my prayers.God bless you.
