Summary: A Great Book
Review: The Lost Boy is an intriging realistic book! It shows parents what happenes to kids when you abuse them and mistreat them! The Lost Boy is about a little boy named Dave Pelzer. Whos parents cal him "kid" "you" "It", all but his real name, because they were always sober. He hides from his parents because they beat him up! His mom also used to play mean games, like she would make him stay still for hours and if he even twitched she would beat him up! Even though his parents had a home he lived in a garebage can in the basement!Dave Pelzer is the author of this outstanding phenomenon book! This book is the sequal to: A Child Called It. The ages of this book should be 10 and over, because there is some bad words like: hell but it just shows how he felt, so its necessary for those kind of words. Also this book is very sad, because it has lots of real life situations that people just can't bare to liten to. And little kids wouldn't understand it to. This book is about Mr. Pelzer's horrible childhood, and how he over came the horror of his ,childhood. And a hear warming story of how many other parents or Foster Parents who helped him along his teenage years and some of his younger years. In my opinion Dave didn't have to write about his chilhood days. He could have kept it a secret, but he didnt and from his actions he has probably saved few of kids and parents lives. People should read this book, you will learn a lot from it!

Summary: A must read!
Review: Don't pick this book up if you have something important to do - you will NOT be able to put it down. I read both of his first two books in one sitting. The second book answered so many questions and filled in many of the missing pieces from the first book. Thank you David for sharing your amazing story!

Summary: The Lost Boy
Review: I did read the first of these three books. This is a wonderful story. I still have a lot of unanswered questions. Hopefully they will be answered in the next book. I have a few friends that have been moved into different foster homes. The one thing that they have told me is that the hardest part is to feel wanted and that you maybe finally have a home. So I can only imange what Dave has gone through. Yet his mother still seems to be there to haunt him. He does a few things that he should not do, just to make friends and feel that he fits in. He does put his trust into his social worker. Which is good. He also hads a family that he can call his. When he sees his brother he tries to help. I really don't understand why the system would let his brothers stay with his mother. This women should have never had kids. The father to sit by a let this happen is sick. Hopefully they will get theres in the end. Well I recomend this book. It is a wonderful story. I know a 12 year old who is reading it and they know that they have a good life. Thank you for the wonderful story of your life Dave and God Bless you.

Summary: The Lost Boy
Review: This book is the second part to a trilogy of a little boys life from the ages of 12-18. I found this book to be sad also. I was happy that Dave was away from the abuse that he had suffered for so many years. In this book above all Dave really wants a place to call home and to be excepted by everyone. Dave was moved from one home to another and went to different schools everytime. That made it difficult to have a real friend or a family to love him. Dave began getting himself in all kinds of trouble to have friends. At one point he was doing a lot of stealing. His own friends or what he thought were friends set him up. Also at another home a friend started a fire and Dave was blamed and thrown in juvenile hall. At this point his mother is still manipulating the system trying to prove that Dave was not sane and that he needed to be in an institution. She was trying to say that all the things that Dave had said the he had made them up. This made me so angry all that was going through my head at this time is what a monster. How can any mother be that evil? At one point Dave ran into his brother Russell. Dave was afraid at first to talk to him but he did. Russell was very happy to see him and as they talked Dave notice that his brother has the same marks on his arms that Dave had had 2 yrs. before. All that Dave wanted to do was to save his brother as he had been saved. Things did not work out the way that Dave wanted them to and he was found by mother and before you know it off to another home. As I read I knew what he was going through I myself was in foster care for about 2 yrs and I had many homes also I could really relate. I just wanted a place to call home right along with him. As i finished this book I still had unanswered questions. Some of my questions from the first book were answered in this one but not the one I really wanted to know the answer to. That question is what were the consequences that the abusive mother recieved for doing this to Dave? I hope that i get my answer in the last book. I think that this book is an excellent book and I would recommend this to anyone that likes to read true life stories. I also believe that this book can be an eye opener to people in our society that these things really do happen and it is up to us to stop it.

Summary: The Lost Boy
Review: The Lost Boy was a great book. The abuse that Dave went through was a great deal of pain and it took a strong person to come out of it and have a life to tell about. He was so lucky to survived the things he went through. I am so glad he got the courage to leave but he was so scared that his mother (the witch) would come after him and beat him. I am so glad he found the women that would that care of him keep him safe from the mother. I feel that a mother that would put a child through that should try to go through the same see if they like it. I bet she could not take the pain that dave went through. I give Dave all the credit in the world although he went through his ups and downs. As a reader I really enjoyed this book although it was hard to read at some points. As a seventeen year old I don't know if I could take the pain Dave went through. I really enjoyed this book and suggest for every one to read it to see the pain some children have to go through.

Summary: Real Tear Jerker
Review: The lost boy was a very inspirational book to foster children. This book was not quite as good as "A child called it." I felt this book was very good in the beginning, but got very boring towards the end. This is a good book for young children from the ages of 10-16 who will be able to appreciate how lucky they have it. The boy in this book shows how easy it is to open up to people you believe care. Thank you for such an inspiring book,I look forward to reading the next one.

Summary: Foster Mom's Perspective
Review: I am a 31 yr old single foster mother to a 4 yr old boy. By chance I saw "The Lost Boy" in a grocery store & bought it immediately. The insight into the mind of an abused child was invaluable to me. Since then I have purchased and read his other 2 books. The excerpts in the back of the book from the adults involved in Dave's life were especially helpful to me. When things get tough, I go back & re-read them to remind myself that somehow I am impacting my child. I hope that no matter what happens in my little guy's life, that he will remember me in a positive light. These books are painful to read, but shows how it IS possible to beat the odds. I hope that everyone who reads the series becomes more involved in some way, politically, financially or otherwise to make a difference. God bless you Dave.

Summary: The Lost Boy
Review: This book like the first one is great. My favorite part is when the school gets involved and David is taken out of his mothers house. This book has taught me a lot more about foster care than what I knew. I really din't know that kids were juggled aroung so much from foster home to foster home. This book made my emotions go crazy because one second I'm crying the next I'm proud of Dave for standing up or what ever he did. Daves wife and son should be very proud of how well he has turned out and for writing this three wonderful books that are so very popular and full of information that a lot of people might not know about.
