Summary: "A Child Called It" gives a new meaning to the word HERO!
Review: I first heard of Dave Pelzer on the "Montel Williams Show". Mr. Pelzer was telling his story of abuse and freedom and was soon joined by another man also relating a similar story. Later that week I went out and bought his book and did not put it down until I was finished, when I passed it on to someone else. I am majoring in Secondary Education and found it appaling that teachers did not have the tenacity to persue these obvious signs of abuse. However, when finally Dave was resqued the inspiration he shares is remarkable. He is a true hero. He could be wallowing in self pity and ignoring his own son, or even repeating the same abuse, but no, Dave is a missionary to us all proclaiming the survival of the human soul and helping others in similar situations. Thank You Dave for being an inspirtation to us all and continue the great work!

Summary: "I HAVE NEVER CRIED SO HARD FOR SOMEONE I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW!"
Review: Two weeks have passed and I still can picture little David. I read both books and cried nearly the entire time. Page after page all I could think about was "what does she have in store for him now?" I want to go on and on about this book. I read the first one and ran RIGHT out to the book store for the sequel. I cried when they didn't have a copy(I rush ordered it.) David, I have soooo many questions for you!! I have been at my PC for A WEEK to try to find you! I FINALLY wound up here! I give you all the credit in the world!! The pain you have endured, your will to survive your HORRIBLE ordeal is an inspiration to us all!! I am currently seeking a career as a "Ms. Gold" If You are reading these reviews, please feel free to e-mail me. I myself am a "survivor." I have passed the book and my raving review on to MANY family members and friends! They too have had similiar reactions. Ever since I read the books, I have this OVERWHELMING need to SOMEHOW be in touch with you. If this is ONLY way, so be it. I'll feel good knowing my message has gotten to you! I'll NEVER forget you!!!!

Summary: Emotional, gut-wrenching, and moving
Review: Dave Pelzer has captured the reader with his rendition of why over a half-million children in some type of foster care need their stories told. While he doesn't answer why he was the child singled out for maltreatment by his mother, he does provide insight into what those of us who have worked in this field for year know - the scapegoat is real in many dysfunctional families. Thank you David. I'm giving this book to many friends, co-workers, and foster children as one of the best books writtien on this subject.

Summary: It helped me overcome some tragic moments in my own life.
Review: I just cannot believe that anyone would ever say this book was terrible. It was not a fictional story, and was most likely written with a large font so children going through the same experiences could read it. Dave Pelzer is a great American hero and it is time someone acknowleged that.

Summary: A wonderful book that is both very sad and inspiring.
Review: I too could not put this book down once I started to read it. I felt very sad and scared for that little boy. I have a little boy and could not ever imagine doing to him even one of the evil things David's mother did to him. I cried for him and for the world which permits horrible things like this be done to such innocent little people, who want only to be loved by their parents.

Summary: A Child Called It/From Victum to Victor
Review: I recentlly bought Dave Pelzer's A CHILD CALLED IT... I can't think of a book that has touched me more. I felt every emotion that a person could possibly experience. Dave, how did you live through such terrible abuse? My hrart goes out to the author, as I can relate to being an abused child. i hope he finally found someone to love.

Summary: Not Worth The Money
Review: Yes, you can read the whole book in one sitting...because the font is sooo large. If this book was printed regular size, it would probably be 50 pages. This story is incredible and I sympathize with the author, however; many of the vital questions are left unanswered (such as, why the mother singled this child out) and I find it too hard to believe a child could have had that much determination despite the constant punishments and negativity. The author is writing from the perspective of the child and no child I know is capable of that kind of complex or motivational thinking.

Summary: "WORST STORY I EVER READ"
Review: This man has something against his parents. The only way he can get back at them is to write a book full of lies and untruths just like Roseanne Barr. Save your money.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Definitely one of the most inspirational books I've read
Review: David Pelzer is a very strong and encouraging individual to all of us. He has both the motivation and the will power to continue, no matter what the trouble he is in. "A Child Called 'It'" is a touching book which informs others of the millions of abuse cases which exist today. It teaches you, but, most importantly, it helps you to discover yourself and all that you have.
